I’m not an attorney but I believe that if no charges are filed then the court(s) essentially deem the shooting as justified (JMHO).
I find it interesting that this country is supposedly SO racist, but the only incidents they can find to riot about are marginal cases where it is questionable whether the shooting was unjustified or self-defense. If this were happening every day as the liberals claim, why is it that the ONLY cases they can come up with as examples of the rampant killing of innocent black “teens” are two years apart?
There is another, overlooked aspect to the DOJ actions.
Will the DOJ bring aggravated hate crime attempted murder charges against the Trayvon Martin? The only criminal act was committed by Trayvon

A couple of weeks ago cops in a neighboring town (Lyndhurst NJ) shot and killed a young savage in a stolen car when he tried to ram his way out of being boxed in.
There has been little coverage ever since. The handgun and ski mask in the car were sufficient evidence that this guy needed to be put down.

Excellent point. If this country were so racist, and the alleged racist shooting happened so often, there would be numerous other cases for them to talk about.
Sadly, there is a bloodbath of black men getting shot in this country, but, the vast majority of such cases are black men being shot by other black men. Sharpton and the liberals have nothing to say about this ongoing story.
No, no actions will be brought against Trayvon. Reason being, Trayvon was a member of an officially recognized grievance group. His actions, and actions of Michael Brown, are looked at differently than if a white person had taken the exact same actions under identical circumstances.
The shooting was racist only if Zimmerman would not have shot a white man, a fellow Hispanic, or an Asian if that person was trying to grab his gun while shouting “You’re going to die tonight.” Not sure how you could prove that without the other scenarios actually unfolding.
OJ had money, Zimmerman doesn't. Martin's family did sue the housing complex and got a settlement in that.
