The GOP does not automatically have my vote; should an unacceptable candidate win their primaries I will not vote for him.
(Romney is a good example; I consider him to be Obama's political clone and therefore unacceptable.)

Nope, solution is even simpler than that.
You support Abortion or the Gay agenda, you don't get my vote period. I won't stay home, I will vote for a third-party candidate that is Pro-Life and won't promote the Sodomy Agenda, and you, and the other unprincipled party hacks can go pound sand!
