God Save Us from the Loud 'I'm Staying Home This Year' Conservatives
By Jim Geraghty
A few thoughts from the middle of the day . . .
God save us from self-professed "conservatives" who will announce they'll stay home on Election Day as a demonstration of their power.
Because as we all know, you become more influential in politics and government and public life by staying home and doing less.
....
Does the "I'm staying home" crowd apply this to everything in life? "I don't like the way the company is run, so I'm not going to work."
"Honey, I'm just not happy with your performance as a spouse, so I'm going to be less active in the marriage until you improve."
"Kids, I'm disappointed with your performance in school. Until you improve, I'm ignoring you."
The thing is, I wonder how often the "I'm staying home this year" crowd voted before. In fact, I wonder if they ever vote.
I don't understand the "I've never been more fearful for the future of this country, but I'm not willing to do anything about it" mentality.
Ronald Reagan is not walking through that door, folks.

Like where?
Any candidate that does not support Gay Marriage, the Gay Agenda, Abortion, Comprehensive Immigration reform, and conversely, supports limited Government, is Pro-Life, and believes in a strong National Defense, you know, Like Reagan, Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and if none of them make it to the final General Election, then I am sure that the American Independent Party, or some other third party will provide an adequate candidate.
I'll leave it to you, and others like you, to compromise all of your principles to vote for someone who has an 'R' next to their name that will just move the Party further to the Left.
Personally, I am done with the Lesser of two Evils Crap!

Hell we have self admitted gay freepers coming out of the closet on this thread and demanding we elect GOPe libs!
That one totally surprised me.
Either someone has commandeered that Freepers credentials, or, he was really good at pretending to be a conservative.

Nice to know that someone can scream Faggot while coming out of the closet, trash we who refuse to support liberals and not ride lightning.
So there’s that I guess.
To: SoConPubbie
Libs are what they are. Look at how many of these lesser evil crowd often turn up on threads not romney related and STILL taking the most non conservative stance related to it.
It happens a lot with some familiar freepers. Nothing surprises me anymore.

The time to get a conservative candidate is in the primaries, and if they cant convince (which unfortunately, it seems that most of them cant), then vote for whoever has managed to convince. Its all a numbers game, and the GOP will be completely powerless without majorities.
Well, as recent history has proven, even with a majority, the GOP, if comprised of moderates, is still completely powerless and will continue to move both the party and the nation, as a result, to the left.
Your argument in favor of the GOP-E simply falls flat.

“then vote for whoever has managed to convince. “
It baffles me. People can simply just ‘be convinced’ now? A known liar simply has to lie better? Thats what these fools call conservative?
Not actions. Not records. Just ‘convince me?” Hillary will get most of the right and all of the left if thats the case. Those of us purists that want to actually have proof of word and deed are gonna get crushed by the ‘new conservatism’.

but, if you stay home you are not only a contemptable sob, but are also a traitor....
a traitor to this country, and a traitor to god Well at least we're traitors to a small (g) almighty.... I appreciate the mercy.

Thank God your mouths and votes are like homos: 2% of the population but 55% of the NOISE.Funny that... Because the 'pragmatists' can't ever seem to win an election on their own. Every time they pop out of the woodwork around here, trying to beat Conservatives into line... followed by pleading, begging even, by the day before election. Yet if the rock-ribbed Conservatives will not be moved, that translates into the greater population: If we don't like it, neither do the voters - It won't sell, and failure follows.
There are FAR more of me than there are of you. Most of Conservatism stands outside of the GOP. Don't believe me? Send up a Reaganite for a change and watch what happens.

My memories too...don’t forget the amnesty wars here too
Posters who’ve only been here 8 years or less have no clue how what you described went down
Plus the wideawakes exodus for Giuliano
These were pivotal moments here....

If you voted for Myth Romney, that was a LIBERAL vote. Liberals cast LIBERAL votes. Rest well.

Yuppers... I’m pretty baffled at why he would come out of the closet on a thread like this instead of the gay threads but whatever works I guess. Of course the next post will be saying it was a sarcastic joke or such.
Bummer. Cat’s out of the bag. The Romneybots got self admitted homosexuals backing their guy, he of the “Better friend to gays than Ted Kennedy” speech right here on FR.
Boy that’s conservative!

Of course, of course. Billy Jeff would be his first appointment. Billy Jeff would hire Monica as his, ummm, clerk.

Yeah and Mike the tinfoil follies poster swore we sank the Kusrk. Then there was Arator. Trying reason with him made my head hurt LOL. I got booted once for almost a year but I think me and another poster had a gross misunderstanding. It happens. Illbay was one who really grated on my nerves and ran a lot of posters off. Any mention of third party prompted immediate flames.
