NATIONAL REVIEW
SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 12:34 PM
God save us from self-professed "conservatives" who will announce they'll stay home on Election Day as a demonstration of their power.
Because as we all know, you become more influential in politics and government and public life by staying home and doing less.
....
Does the "I'm staying home" crowd apply this to everything in life? "I don't like the way the company is run, so I'm not going to work."
"Honey, I'm just not happy with your performance as a spouse, so I'm going to be less active in the marriage until you improve."
"Kids, I'm disappointed with your performance in school. Until you improve, I'm ignoring you."
The thing is, I wonder how often the "I'm staying home this year" crowd voted before. In fact, I wonder if they ever vote.
I don't understand the "I've never been more fearful for the future of this country, but I'm not willing to do anything about it" mentality.
Ronald Reagan is not walking through that door, folks.

After reading the article and many of these comments, I don't see any recruiting here. I just see fellow conservatives shaming and insulting other conservatives for voting their conscience.
That would make you an outright liar because no such thing was ever said or implied.
But seeing that lying one's ass off to tarnish and label someone they disagree with is a tried-and true Alinsky tactic - it goes to figure you are a shill for the Ruling Class oligarchy.
I don't tolerate bullies or liars bub.
You are obviously both.
Here’s what gets me — people whose conservatism stops at the edge of their ballots.
They tell us we have to vote for their centrist, moderate candidates when they make no attempt to earn our votes or, better yet, join us in promoting conservative alternatives.
The Republican Party is lost. It is completely in thrall to moneyed, Beltway interests. It has left us. And too many conservatives are shackled to its corpse.
No they won’t, they’ll continue to blame us. Like doing the same thing they’ve been doing will get them a different result. They’ll just get more and more of us to refuse to vote for their lib/dem with an (r) candidates. They’re not known as the stupid party for nothing.
>>That would make you an outright liar because no such thing was ever said or implied.<<
You implied you did not vote or voted for someone other that Romney — this is a vote for obozo. If I misunderstood your implication I apologize.
>>But seeing that lying one’s ass off to tarnish and label someone they disagree with is a tried-and true Alinsky tactic - it goes to figure you are a shill for the Ruling Class oligarchy.<<
Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
>>I don’t tolerate bullies or liars bub.

You need both a thesaurus and a dictionary.
I have no idea why so many people on this thread have lost knowledge they should have obtained in elementary school.
Please explain how a vote that wasn't for Obama was for Obama.
Please explain why the above quote is incorrect and I should, in fact, not vote for principle.Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.
— John Quincy Adams
The others are the 7 million Republicans that stayed home. Number came from Rush.
Ya could look it up

It is admonishment for people voting for the other side by staying home in a temper tantrum funk.
Abused wife syndrome and the Plantation mindset has many chained into believing the GOP is the only viable party to champion Christian or Conservative interests.
Such folks are slaves, no different than the blacks who are chained to the Democrat Party for their empty promises and handouts.
The GOP is part-and-parcel fundamentally opposed to Conservatism and hates us as much as the Democrats do.
We have no party or representation outside of a couple mavericks (Cruz, Palin, Lee) the GOP is waging war against behind the scenes.
The GOPe keeps doing it, running libs who have no desire to defeat the dems so, yeah, we end up with the same result over and over.
Apparently, the GOPe is distributing Stupid Pills to all their mouthpieces.
I think the point of this exercise is simply this. Most of us here are starting to coalesce around Cruz.
GOPe is determined to run an open-borders guy for president and they want to mau-mau us into supporting him against the open-borders guy the Democrats run.
Whether the Repub or the Dem wins, the open-borders guys win. They will have two horses in the race.
Notice how they are starting to try and “Palin” Cruz. And to convince us we have to vote for their guy after they’ve spent all their energy doing to Cruz what they did to Palin.
Yeah, no.
God save us from the leftists in the Republican Party.
Nope, we aren't dealing with negative numbers.
Imagine, if you will, that each candidate has a counter that is associated with them and that a vote for one increments that counter; given that model, how does voting for candidate C, over B, equate to an increase in the votes for A?
Yes, I realize there is an electoral college and that it is a level of indirection — but I cannot be held to account for their actions, as I am not them and they have their own free will.
Very good points.
Thank you for listing them.
I will vote Gillespie in November if have to swim through Ebola to do it but, I was a Paul voter in the primary to send a signal to the GOPe that I did not care for their antics.
Oh, and yes, I did vote for Mitt in the general.
>>Please explain why the above quote is incorrect and I should, in fact, not vote for principle.<<
Yay, your principle got us obozo and everything that came with him.
Good work.
And may I propose a another quote:
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Edmund Burke
Congratulations on being true to your tagline, FRiend.
>>Imagine, if you will, that each candidate has a counter that is associated with them and that a vote for one increments that counter; given that model, how does voting for candidate C, over B, equate to an increase in the votes for A?<<
Imagine 2 voters.
Voter 1 votes for candidate “o”.
Voter 2 stays at home.
“o” wins 1-0.
(This is what happened.)
Like I said — simple arithmetic. 7th grade arithmetic.
Your party declared war on us bub, vowed to ‘crush us wherever we are found’ so we cannot ‘ever have a candidate on the GOP ballot’.
So you can take your ‘admonishment’ and shove it up your backside bub.
Go and try ‘shaming’ some Mexican nationals and Democrat ‘Moderates’ to vote for your Ruling Class stooges.
We vote Conservative, period. If that means we write them in, we write them in. If that means we vote third party, we vote third party.
Your party declared war bub, Good luck without us.
