First, put yourself in the shoes of the hospital staff.
The Emergency room is packed.
Most of the patients don't speak English.
Most of them are from countries whose names don't even ring a bell.
Most of the staff probably aren't experts on foreign countries, so Liberia is just another 'place' they've never heard of.
The President of the United States said there were no cases in the U.S. and it wasn't likely to ever happen. They believe him.
SO... how can you blame some low-level hospital clerk ?
The problem is that he should never have gotten IN TO the COUNTRY without undergoing quarantine.
On top of all that, President Obama himself hosted an African summit earlier this year, AFTER the virus had gotten out of control in the very same countries whose leaders where flown into D.C.
Obama knew of the risk, was asked about it and determined he would not cancel the summit.

I was talking to a guy who’s wife does research at a major hospital what he was hearing and all he did was laugh and laugh and laugh. He didn’t believe it was here which means the wife doesn’t either.
