The sister of the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States says he told relatives he notified officials the first time he went to the hospital that he was visiting from Liberia.

Mai Wureh says her brother, Thomas Eric Duncan, went to a Dallas emergency room on Friday and they sent him home with antibiotics. She says he said hospital officials asked for his Social Security number and he said that he didn't have one because he was visiting from Liberia.

Either someone at the hospital who initally received this patient be ARRESTED for criminal negligence, OR we keep things nice and politically correct by not offending black people by investigating where they came from (Liberia, HELLO RED FLAG???!!!!!)

Yeah, that was a major, major screw up. It’s not like this stuff hasn’t been all over the news, and then there were the 2 doctors that were brought back, it’s unbelievable he was sent home the first time.

You see, this is why we must stop ingress from these countries, you cannot count on people here to do things properly.

Just wondering if the failure of the health officials to suspect ebola was due to the patient’s country of origin. Since the medical profession, like most others, has surrendered totally to political correctness, this is a reasonable supposition.
So are people going to die because of PC?

One article said “close to death”.

Why was he allowed on the plane? Or off the plane?

Because in Obama’s America, asking where you came from is considered racist..meanwhile, on the same day this guy arrived from Liberia, Obama hauled all deportations of Liberians..I say let these Ebola infected people move in with Obama and HIS family, let them cough on him for a little bit

That someone’s exposure may already be providing a form of payback.

It’s all over the news but way too many people NEVER watch, read or listen to the “news”. Most get their news from Jon Stewart. And all he’s going to do is make jokes about it.

I think the hospital dumped him to avoid being stuck with an expensive treatment with no possibility of being paid. Now they are stuck with him anyway.

So did this poor fellow go to the ER and wait there with symptoms and expose everyone in the waiting area with the virus as well as all of the hospital staff that saw him that first visit? If so, how many of those have been isolated? This seems like it could get out of hand quickly if dozens have been exposed in that environment.

Ebola can kill in 4 days after exposure, possibly less. He may be "close to death" now, but might have appeared (and felt) "fine" on the plane or at US Immigration.

Is he in the same hospital that he was sent home from?

As for getting paid, I’m sure the feds will take care of the bill. I’d say if they knew it was ebola they may have sent him away to keep the hospital from being infected and all the lawsuits surely to follow.
