Dallas health officials are bracing for a possible second case of the deadly Ebola virus connected to the infected man now in isolation.
Dallas County Health and Human Services Director Zachary Thompson said there is one particular contact of the patient who he fears may have Ebola.
"Let me be real frank to the Dallas County residents: the fact that we have one confirmed case, there may be another case that is a close associate with this particular patient," Thompson said Wednesday morning in an interview with local ABC affiliate WFAA.
"So this is real. There should be a concern, but it's contained to the specific family members and close friends at this moment."
Thompson did not provide further detail about the potential case, only saying that he or she is under strict monitoring as a precaution.
A visitor to Dallas from Liberia was officially diagnosed with Ebola Tuesday afternoon, the first case ever confirmed outside of Africa.

Funny, we've not heard the test results of the doctor being isolated at Bethesda. That test was taken before this Liberian's. That doctor had symptoms but was staying home and taking his temperature twice daily but then he was hospitalized. I think we know the test result and why the masses have not been told.

You don’t know that, Greta, and neither does anyone else except maybe the government and the medical folks in Dallas. If it gets going in the USA, American medical practice will keep the death rate relatively lower, perhaps as low as 25% which means it will spread farther and faster. I hope it confers immunity on the survivors.
Obama is acting just as an Ottoman or Mameluke Sultan did way back when. The actual government is turned over to the Vizier (Jarrett?) and the Sultan spent his time playing in his harem or at his hunting lodges (the Ottoman version of the American golf course and Martha’s Vineyard). If the Vizier screwed up such as to threaten the Sultan or the extent of his dominions then the Sultan used his power to have the Vizier strangled or halved.

I have very little to say about GW that is good but at least he would have stopped travel to and from infected countries. In those days we at least had a president who did not desire the destruction of America, though. The situation is not the same now.
