Health officials tracing Dallas Ebola patient’s path (Dallas ambulance was in use 2 more days)

A man in a Dallas hospital has Ebola, the first human case of the deadly virus diagnosed in the United States, doctors at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday.

The patient, who is in an isolation unit at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, did not develop symptoms until four days after he arrived from West Africa, officials said at a hastily called press conference at the CDC’s headquarters in Atlanta.

“He was checked for fever before getting on the flight,” said CDC Director Thomas Frieden. “There is no reason to believe anyone on the flight was at risk.”

The Ebola virus is not spread through the air, but through contact with bodily fluids of victims — sweat, blood, saliva and other secretions.

The patient, whom officials would not identify, flew to the United States on Sept. 20, and began feeling ill on Sept. 24, Frieden said.

He sought care at the Dallas hospital on Friday and was sent home with antibiotics, Dr. Edward Goodman of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital said at a separate press conference in Dallas. Goodman said the hospital is looking into why the patient was discharged....

As usual we are going to find out that much of our supposed defenses and abilities to deal with biological warfare and epidemics is going to be much less than what it is supposed to be as we deal with this Ebola situation.

I just hope that we get things up to speed before we face a real terrorist, biological warfare attack.

The corrupt hussien regime is doing all it can to destroy the Texas economy. The Ebola outbreak in Dallas will mean that businesses will be reluctant to expand their numerous corporate headquarters located in the area. The vendors who work the Great State Fair will see their profits vanish due to the sparse crowds. Even Jerry Jones, while not beloved by many, will suffer since games will be canceled at AT&T Stadium. Yes, this is the October surprise orchestrated by the DemonRAT party.

Plausible? Yes, I think so. The hussein/holder/jarrett trio hate the Christian Conservative values of Texas and this is their way to inflict a horrific punishment on the people of the Lone Star State.

“There is no reason to believe anyone on the flight was at risk.”...

He came from West Africa. Duh.

How about all Ebola patients use the his and hers bathrooms at the Whitehouse residence?

A man A Liberian national in a Dallas hospital has Ebola........ The patient The Liberian national who is in an isolation unit.......(funded by irrate taxpayers)

He The liberian national was checked for fever before getting on the flight,” said CDC Director Thomas Frieden <---Total Bovine Scat

What this is telling us is that anybody can fly into this country unchecked. If the Islamic Iceholes want to wreak havoc they just have to bring in the Ogabe virus in mass.

GMTA. Sadly, I think we’re right. Even if hussein’s genocide plans are thwarted, he’ll succeed in wreaking havoc on the economy, especially in Texas. Watch for a massive drop in the DJIA, S&P and NASDAQ in a few hours. Governor Rick Perry needs to man up and take control of the crisis and stop hussein’s plans before it’s too late. I wish we had a stronger governor here.

Absolutely the first thing I thought of. Ebola = the Red State affliction. Of course it will go out of control all over eventually, but that’s the plan, stage two. Stage three will be martial law with military closing state line crossings. Blue states and VIP’s will get vaccines and treatment.

so...why have four different hospitals been used to treat Ebola patients? I thought Atlanta was the best option. Surely it’s not a cost issue. Russian roulette via readiness testing?

The economic impact of AT&T Stadium looms large in the region. When the events are canceled, including the college football championship, the whole region will suffer incredibly. But, yes you're right, the Ebola outbreak here in Texas will go far beyond the economy as untold numbers of innocent lives are destroyed. Just...as...hussein...planned...it.

“other secretions”
coughing and sneezing?
You can say Ebola’s not airborne, but if sharing your infected bodily fluids by those delivery methods, can infect, then in that sense, it’s airborne

I would offer this observation...the health providers in this case....have carved off significant customer usage.

The ambulance service? Their name will get dragged around and no one will be willing to call or allow them to transport relatives (this is Texas and people act this way).

The hospital? I’ll bet several folks who were supposed to check in for routine services or operations....have called their doctor and asked for another hospital recommendation. It may take months for the public to forget about this one episode.

The family members of this unfortunate individual? I’d bet on at least three having some indicators of Ebola within the next week. Questions will arise over their grocery shopping, visitors at home, and where they even bought gas for their car.

So, here’s the eyecatcher....within twelve months....the national health system will admit that this is way beyond their capability to handle. And the question will be....can we ever quarantine enough people to fix this? I don’t have that belief anymore.

But a statement released by the city of Dallas said the man had “moved to Dallas from Liberia a week ago.”

And people from Liberia just up and move to America with no long term visa? People from the continent of Africa should be required to be in quarantine for 30 days before boarding an airplane and then again once they arrive before being turned loose into a general population which is disease free(or at least was) Read more here: http://www.star-telegram.com/2014/09/30/6162320/cdc-team-mobilizing-to-come-to.html?rh=1#storylink=cpy

I shouldn't laugh... But it's kind of one of those if you don't laugh you'll cry type of things... I DVRed Special Report and just turned it on before logging on here. I can't believe the CDC guy is taking questions from over the phone and not in person. That's sooo reassuring !! Start of a horror movie! And how much the guy flew here because he knew he was getting sick and could get treatment here? How long does it take to get the ok to fly here to “visit”?
