House Speaker John Boehner says he isnt worried about a conservative revolt that could oust him from his leadership postasserting therell be very few votes against him when he seeks a third term in January.
And he also dismissed suggestions his leadership team would strip committee assignments from GOP lawmakers who vote against him, telling USA Today Tuesday: I just dont think its necessary.
Boehners optimism may be whistling in the wind, The Hill reports.
The news site last week reported frustration with Boehners leadership style was triggering talk among some House Republicans about ways to replace him, including Arizona GOP Rep. Paul Gosar, who declared Boehners times up.

“Boehners leadership style”
Style? Style? Style has NOTHING to do with it. It’s SUBSTANCE, or lack thereof.
He’s a complaisant self-serving hack.
“My god king will protect me! Just as he did Thad Cochran and his barnyard harem!” -Boehner the RINO
Unfortunately, he’s probably right.
He’s probably right. They’re probably all afraid that if they elect someone else, they’ll have to watch him stand there and cry. Who wants to see that [again]?
He’s a RINO.
No one wants to rassle with a skunk, especially after he gasses you, loses and starts crying.
Well True Conservatives Will Oppose Him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RINOS like him, have their heads up their arses.
Like McConnell he will absolutely punish those conservatives who oppose him,
his real name is John Souse’.( W.C Fields “The Bank Dick”, aka souse’
I honestly think Boehner has some nervous disorder that makes him likely to dissolve into tears so easily and so frequently. This may be a sign of chronic anxiety due to the apparent overstress of the job. I can see why Obama’s gang wants Boehner to stay,,,and to fetch.
What keeps Boehner in are the 95 percent of rank and file Republican members of Congress who fake conservatism or repudiate it entirely.
The ones who stand up like Justin Amash of MI or Tom Massie of KY had no back up from guys like my congeessman, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania.
Congressman Perry’s dodge answer when asked about supporting Boehner is that the alternative was Nancy Pelosi.
But the truth is that if Perry and others had the guts, they could have forced Boehner out and found someone to get the votes needed.
But there are no such “guts” because 95 percent of them are not real conservatives.
Scott Perry had Boehner in the district in the summer of 2013 to speak at a fundraiser.
Perry makes all the right noises about how bad Obama and Pelosi are, but in the end he’s in Boehner’s back pocket.
I will write in the name of a conservative instead of voting for him on November 4th.
I’m pretty much convinced we need a new conservative party in this country....
Anyone who supports the lying GOP, authors
of RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE/DeathCARE,
to GiveObama(more)Power(GOP) is a FOOL.
Agreed.
“Style? Style? Style has NOTHING to do with it. Its SUBSTANCE, or lack thereof.”.........
BINGO, We have a winner. Boehner is without a doubt a horrible example of a leader.
Thus saith “Baghdad Bob” Boehner.
What country?
I suppose you believe in the Easter Bunny too.
He’s probably right. Which is sad commentary on the state of the GOP.
You have to ask yourself, if he’s the best we’ve got, then whats the point.
The leadership and committee leadership process is the main problem with Congress. It basically sets up dictators in Congress. The result is that subordinate congress critters end up representing the leadership, rather than their states. I don’t have a solution, but the current process isn’t working.
