A Canadian airline has sent a warning to its pilots to stop bringing pornographic material into the cockpit.
In an internal bulletin to staff, Air Canada threatened to sack and/or pursue criminal charges against pilots who were caught displaying inappropriate material on a flight.
The warning was sent to employees after obscene material was discovered while an official with Transport Canada, the national industry regulator, was seated in the cockpit.
The bulletin was issued a year ago, but has recently been obtained by CBC News.
In the notice, Rod Graham, Air Canadas chief pilot and director of fleet operations and training, warned pilots: I am disappointed to have to raise this issue once again but unfortunately we have some people that have yet to understand the message.
To be clear, this issue only exists on the Embraer fleet and it must stop.
He said the airline was attempting to identify pilots who were breaking the rules.
Once they are identified they will be subject to discipline to the full extent of the law and our corporate policies. This could include termination and/or criminal charges.
It is not the first time pilots have been warned about the presence of porn in the cockpits of planes.
The bulletin circulated last year was issued just four months after an earlier warning, following complaints about pilots inappropriate behaviour.
A female pilot first started complaining to the Montreal-based airline around six years ago after finding pornography displayed, glued or tucked into areas within the cockpit, CBC News reported.

Porn....cockpit....sometimes the jokes write themselves.
The old two heads and only so much blood problem!
I’ll bet money that we’re talking about ‘pin up girls’. The fact is, women have walked into male-spaces and then had a fit every time they see the image of a sexy woman hung up inside a guy’s locker or a mechanic’s office.
Reminder: The joystick is for flying the plane, ONLY.
Keeps the blood flowin’on those long overnight flights...
Mile high club?
I'd say that Canadian porn is pretty tame!
Does porn in the ‘cockpit’ create a stiff stick situation?
I’m only half surprised they didn’t put out a memo about not having porn on the flight deck unless you bring enough for everyone...
REAL MEN used to know why they flew and for whom.
There's not a war or conflict that MEN didn't carry with them a woman ... wife. girlfriend or wet dream .. it was a woman and sex.
Get over it.
That female pilot loves her man or woman telling her how hot she looks and if it's the other way around, she drools over HER bitch.
Lame is more like it. They mandate that 70% of the pornography consist of domestic Canadian content.
Nobody is talking about pictures of loved ones or a painting on the plane. There are no redeeming qualities to pornography.
If I was offered 70% of Shania Twain (circa 1998) I'd be happy!
Have the mechanics been ruled out as the culprits? If so, the article should have mentioned it.
"She said: The material in question consisted almost entirely of inappropriate business cards and was confined mainly to one aircraft type and route, our Embraer E-90s operating to Las Vegas."
I used to drive hotshot for a gas well service, servicing directional drilling/fracking.
Their business card was a collector's cool (everyone wanted one ... just because ... they had stickers for the hardhat too ... )
I don't have any after the fire, but the logo was a naked woman in white silhouette, standing face front, legs spread, holding a drill (large approx 10" pipe, about 20 ft long) and printed under 'her' was "downhole services"
Very popular advertising and they were very busy
Just sayin'
Fitzpatrick said the offensive materials consisted almost entirely of inappropriate business cards found mostly on the Embraer E-90s flights to Las Vegas. The most recent reported incident was in February of this year, Fitzpatrick said.
