It's something you would expect from a sanity challenged fringe blog or from the usual suspects such as the Democratic Underground or the Daily Kos. Instead the latest example of global warming wackiness is coming from the Gray Lady herself, the New York Times. This is an actual unchallenged quote in a Times article by Jennifer A. Kingson Alaska is going to be the next Florida by the end of the century.
Got that? Not in millions of years but by the end of this century. Of course no data is provided to back up this assertion. In fact the rest of the wild predictions in the article also fail to be backed up by any data other than the claim that computer models project these outcomes. One thing to be said about the New York Times in Moonbat Mode is that their desperation to "prove" global warming can be hilariously entertaining as we shall see:

The coasts are all going to be facing very hot temperatures, Professor Mora said. Washington, D.C., will reach its tipping point the same year, under his model; Los Angeles has until 2048; San Francisco, 2049 and Chicago, 2052. Detroit has until 2051, and Anchorage, 2071. I think these models are off a little. It won't take until 2050 to make Los Angeles and Detroit living Hells -- they already are.

If this were true, rich liberals would be buying up northern property. They arent.
That's my contention as well. They'd also be dumping their coastal properties too and that isn't happening either.
Seems they don't believe their own rhetoric...

When I saw the headline I thought it meant they expect Begich to win election for another term as senator with the help of hanging chads and recounts.

Hello...where was this nitwit last winter when the polar vortex was freezing most of the country, the Great Lakes were frozen until almost June and even down south was seeing snow. I’m sure her explanation will be global warming caused this to happen. If Alaska becomes tropical maybe the north pole will relocate to somewhere between New York and Washington DC.

And very few people alive today, and the writers of the editorial won't be among them, will be around to see if the prediction is accurate.
How convenient.

Well, the "upside" of that scenario is that Washington DC, Florida, most of New Jersey and the New York Times building would all be at the bottom of the sea.

This could well be both hugh and series. Think about it. Turning Alaska into Florida is going to take a lot more than just cranking up the temperature a few degrees. We are going to need to do a little earth-tilting as well in order to extend the normal week and half Alaskan summers to something more like 6 months.
That’s a big job.
The Times always has the inside scoop on stories like this. They must know that something is up. They never lie. At least not often. Oh, strike that. What I meant to say is that the Times wouldn’t know the truth if it slapped them in the face.

So I guess there will be about a 30 to 40 degree swing up in temperature in Florida in the summer.... Can't wait for the 135 degree summers😀

Goes right along with Kerry’s statement yesterday that the earth is enveloped by a quarter inch layer of CO2, which holds the sun’s heat in.
