An Armenian Apostolic church constructed in memory of the victims of the 20th century Armenian genocide was “rigged and dynamited” on Sunday by forces loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham (ISIS), according to reports from Syria’s government news agency.
The Armenian Holy Martyrs Church in Der Zor, located in the Syrian desert 280 miles northeast of Damascus, was constructed in memory of the victims of the 1916 Armenian genocide and consecrated in 1991.
The site was chosen because Der Zor is believed to have housed death camps in which an estimated 150,000 to 400,000 Armenians were killed by the Ottoman Turks 100 years ago. The destroyed church included a museum housing the remains of some of the genocide victims.

It’s getting more difficult to believe God hasn’t completely abandoned Christians in that part of the world. I certainly don’t understand why.. one would think a people who bravely keep to the faith amid all that muslim insanity would be rewarded somehow.
The rest of the world will remember that muslims did this.

God has not abandoned them, but western nations have abandoned them. Western nations operate under the false belief that the Middle East inherently belongs to muslims. Christians do not figure in their plans. They were ignored in the aftermath of the 2003 war. Now too, all we hear about is support of this muslim group or that muslim group. Christians? They have lebanon, they don't need help! They are too weak, no use helping them. Lots of excuses.
The only culture these savages recognize is the Culture of Death. If they had their way, they would kill every human on earth and then, they would fight to the death each other.
If the Christians in that part of the world would worship God faithfully, AND arm themselves to the teeth, I'm sure God would stand with them. Easier said than done, however. Very tough situation.
