A panel of judges chastised Florida sheriffs for a routine inspection of a barbershop that included masked officers, handcuffs, and illegal search as being a violation of the Constitution.
The three-judge panel held that deputes of the Orange County Sheriffs Office violated the civil rights of those inside an Orlando barber shop during a warrantless raid of the business conducted in 2010. The court maintained that the deputies violated the barbers Fourth Amendment rights to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures as they served as the muscle for a routine inspection of the business by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).

From the article: “[Judge] Rosenbaum, a recent appointment from President Obama, and Judge Charles R. Wilson, an appointment by President Clinton, held the majority of the three-jurist panel. Judge William H. Pryor, a 2004 appointment of President George W. Bush, dissented on part and concurred on part.”
So when are the indictments, or civil penalties going to happen?
crickets....
i think this is all that will happen...
All I did, Andy, was run a few numbers out of the back room. I didnt know the law would frown on that.
Actually knew a beauty shop owner who did that. Handled bets on the Arkansas race tracks. It was so well known that the cops actually placed bets with him.
And yet, nary a peep in a post as to why the ‘all powerful’ State must/may ‘permit’ one’s profession...Not too many steps before one is told what profession they are being assigned.
So much for a Free people. When do we start over?
It depends on whether or not “terminated” means they were fired or if it means they were executed. I’d vote for the latter in this case.
Love the tag line.
Since the police were chastised, I suspect this was no ordinary barber shop.
Ordinary shops would not get this kind of reaction from the justice side of things.
