The undated page referenced below indicates that electric car chargers take 1.301 kilowatts, comparable to some hairdryers.

How Many Watts of Electricity does a Electric Car Charger Use?
Twenty hour charge at 1.3 kilowatts for 70 miles.

If you need a charge in half the time, double the kw. 1/3 the time triple the kw, etc.
