Huh? What? It still is Army, no? What am I missing?
I think the real disclaimer here is that someone referred to Harrison as a reporter.
an editor who’s had too much coffee I’m guessing
LA Times has now picked up the story. No new details in their short blurb but here’s the link anyway in case they update

Just hope that the shooter (if there was one) did not screech ‘Allah Fubar!’.
maybe it became a joint base. or a base joint..
LOL, fubar is about right. I am sure that is exactly the first thing most of us thought of.

Joint bases usually have a big airfield. Carson doesn’t have one. It’s still all Army.
It was the first thing I thought of since this happened so shortly after the bombing in Syria was reported.
Maybe someone REALLY didn’t want to go to Africa to catch Ebola.
My sister lives on Fort Carson, and she was still concerned about this event. They don't even have a gun in their home. I have had my brother-in-law's shotgun since they moved to Fort Carson, and I've tried to make him do whatever it is he has to do to be able to get it on base to keep in their home. I was talking to them about getting it this past Saturday because my sister didn't like not having anything to protect themselves with, and was worried about the threats that ISIS had made about killing soldiers and their families in their homes, but they still didn't come and get it.
I live right by the base and it's only a 5 or 10 or minutes drive for them, but I guess he hasn't done whatever he needs to do before he gets it. I told my sister she could come over here with the kids if she didn't want to stay there after the lockdown, but she decided not to. Hopefully this incident was nothing, and will finally motivate them to come get their damn shotgun.
