82?
you have a couple years on me...
I find it amusing that they assume everyone over 75 is going to be a slobbering, hobbling, crutch on family and society...and their answer is - DIE
No one seems to wonder if we can’t still be, though maybe nor marathon runners, relatively healthy and viable, especially to our families.
The Native Americans values their elders for the wisdom they had gained over the decades - wisdom they could draw from, wisdom they could pass down to the younger generations, etc.
I still write a column (30 years now) with a good following. It’s a nostalgia column that includes stories of how people lived a more self-sufficient lifestyle, full of ways to make and provide for ones needs. It’s particularly popular in this day of ‘prepping’.
I teach my grandchildren - and great grandchild - how to knit, make soap, make butter, whey and cheese, garden, forage, love of the woods and waters, how to paint (have a lot of grandkids that inherited the artist-genes) etc etc.
I still live on my own. I have dog - and we take long walks -
I’ve had CHF for 18 years following a heart attack. If I’d taken all the meds the docs prescribed and ‘progressed’ as my docs expected, I’d either be long gone or a drooling idiot by now. Not to mention shuffling along, stooped over with my osteoporosis.
Instead, I did research and took responsibility for my health. Most of it involves simply the right foods, the right supplements, exercise etc. (And for me, not taking the statins, and about 12 other drugs that were prescribed, that I researched and opted not too - that have since been taken off the market - for killing people.)
One thing docs do NOT want to hear is the word “supplements.”
The point is: take CARE of yourself! (I’m healthier than a lot of 57 year olds I know :)
I can not explain it, but the older I get, the faster the time goes by.
The longer you’ve been here, the less a day, month or year represents on a percentage basis of the world you’ve experienced. They literally are shorter in your perception. Summer days as a child went on seemingly forever because they did loom large compared to the sum total of your experience up to that point. My late grandmother said at age 90, that it seemed to her that she awoke and just couldn’t grab hold of the day, then it was gone.
My parents lived to the very **healthy** ( mentally and physically) age of nearly 100.
If the scum bag Ezekiel gets his way they’d be having storm troopers break into houses and drag old people out to the gas chambers. It’s happened before and can happen again.
This idiot could go at anytime since he’s been Brain Dead for years, “NUF” Said.
Can we all be invited to his 75th birthday party in 2031? He only has 17 more years. I’m betting he changes his mind before 2020.
When I was a kid and bored in church, i started adding up all the ages in the bible...and if you do the math Methuselah died in the flood. Sort of like a 98 year old getting hit by a bus.
People should read Zeke’s writings on healthcare. He’s a strong advocate of pulling the plug and shutting off health benefits for anyone near retirement age. If there were no name on his writings you would swear they were written by Dr. Mengele.
“We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.”
My Grandpa passed away last year at the age of 92. He was in a nursing home with dementia and wearing diapers. While my children and I visited him there, it is NOT how we remember him. Yesterday my 13 year old said that if he were to have a hero, it would be his great-grandfather just from what he has learned my grandpa accomplished with an eighth grade education. One of the things that is most impressive to my son is that Grandpa taught himself to play the button accordion. My son is fairly talented musically and has had several years of piano lessons. He has tried to learn the accordion, but decided he will need lessons.
Had my grandfather died at 75, none of his great grandchildren would have known him.
F*ck him. Who asked him and who cares? I wouldn’t ask my own mother and father what they thought the ideal time for them to die would be. So why would I give a rat’s ass about what Ezekiel Emanuel says about his death, however timely it might be?
If I hear clear, unambiguous promises from Rat Party luminaries to off themselves on the day after their 75th birthday I'll consider supporting OsamaObamaCare.
Democrats are Nazis. Time to resurrect the WW II, B-17 solution and drop bombs on their fascist heads. We can start in LA and work east. Here’s a film on how to kill Nazis:

...114 or 115 seems to be the age cap.
***
Perhaps not. It was not that long ago that reaching 100 was most unusual, but, now, there seem to be more and more centenarians around. So, perhaps the cap will be raised somewhat — if the progs don’t start killing off us oldsters.
Psalm 90:10King James Version (KJV)
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
“I teach my grandchildren - and great grandchild - how to knit, make soap, make butter, whey and cheese, garden, forage, love of the woods and waters, how to paint (have a lot of grandkids that inherited the artist-genes) etc etc.”
Good for you. Being a fairly urban person I cannot do a lot of those things. Lucky grandkids. :-)
.
You first,Zeke. Set the example.
Yeah, I beat you by a few months. I know exactly what you mean.
Ole Zeke will change his tune in a few years.
No kidding. September 1st was just yesterday, right? Don’t blink, or tomorrow will be Christmas Eve.
Hillary will be 75 in her second term if that comes to pass.
Zeke, are you going to require her to push off her mortal coil, or will there be a special exemption?
