Yes, we will admit homophobia was once an accepted term, however with the abuse of this word being used to describe anyone who supports a traditional lifestyle it's meaning has changed, attitudes shift.

Semantic change, also known as semantic shift or semantic progression describes the evolution of word usage — usually to the point that the modern meaning is radically different from the original usage. In diachronic (or historical) linguistics, semantic change is a change in one of the meanings of a word. Every word has a variety of senses and connotations, which can be added, removed, or altered over time, often to the extent that cognates across space and time have very different meanings. The study of semantic change can be seen as part of etymology, onomasiology, semasiology, and semantics.

Homophobia n. 1 An extreme derogatory word used to describe a personal point of view. 2. Disparaging or belittling description of a traditional lifestyle advocate.

Such words must only be used when editorially justified. It is your job as a heterosexual to educate the public on how derogatory it is to call someone the 'h' word.

How you can help 1. Correct your friends when you hear them use this word. 2. Submit the updated definition of the word to dictionaries and online dictionaries.

And the fact virtually all homosexuals are heterophobic?

As in referring to straight couples as “breeders”?

As having secret fantasies and desires to have sex with others that don’t want to have sex with them? It is well known most gays have a fantasy of having sex with a straight guy against his will - metaphor for getting back/having power over their father figure.

As in desiring to “come after our kids”?

The Greek word for “hate” is pronounced “me-so”.
A homomeso? Nope, back to the drawing board.

Really? Didn’t know that. Maybe it comes from being raped as a youngster.

I actually like it, because most people wouldn’t know what it meant. What other words use meso to mean hate?
