Scandal: Democrats claim it's been asked and answered, but the question of why four Americans had to die in a diplomatic outpost in a terrorist haven with inadequate security and no plans for rescue has not.
That all questions regarding Benghazi have not been answered and new ones have in fact arisen was shown by the recent revelation by former Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell to reporter Sharyl Attkisson.
Maxwell said he witnessed State Department personnel sifting through stacks of documents and emails to filter out those that would put the department in a bad light before turning any over to the Accountability Review Board tasked to find out the truth.
Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., and the Select Committee he chairs is also tasked with uncovering the truth.
Before Maxwell spoke to Attkisson, Gowdy — along with Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah — deposed Maxwell. Chaffetz said he was told that then-Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills and Deputy Chief of Staff Jake Sullivan were there to oversee the document cleansing.
"For Hillary Clinton's chief of staff and deputy chief of staff to be making a concerted effort to hide documents (and to) make sure that the Accountability Review Board (ARB) and Congress did not see these documents is unbelievable and wrong," Chaffetz says.

CYA in the Obama administration has fossilized into a philosophy of blatant lying and obfuscation, and no one seems to give a rat’s a**.
Certainly not his media allies for whom ferreting out the truth is now only something done in the case of Republicans and Conservatives.
The Clinton machine is quite experienced at how they respond to these situations. They will scream outrage at the charges, followed by accusing the accusers, followed by witness intimidation thru private investigators, followed by death of anyone who puts up with all the prior tactics. It’s usually a random Starbucks robbery or such.
This is one of the things they do best. Democrats stall and obfuscate as long as they can, then they say, `Ah, too much time has passed, wow, that’s too bad.’
They’re doing the same thing with their IRS and other scandals.
We follow the law whenever possible............
Isn’t destroying evidence and destroying federal documents illegal? Where is the affirmative-action attorney general? Will he get right on this?
I sure hope Mr. Maxwell has “adequate protection.”
When Trey gets around to deposing Mills and Sullivan about this, it may be a real circus.
In the mean time we can expect a vicious smear campaign to be conducted against Mr. Maxwell.
