Watsonville is a small city on the Central Coast of California. It is 85% Latino, with 85% of the births at the community hospital covered by Medical (Medicaid) and 85% of the students at the local schools participating in the free lunch program. I would like to remind the reporter that there is no such thing as a free lunch. What caught my eye was:
Families that qualify also are eligible for discounted Internet service from Comcast
So these folks who can't feed their kids get a break on their cable TV bill. Makes you just want to get up and go to work in the morning.

Local TV in Houston today reported on the large percentage increase of 5-14 year olds in the top ten cities. Every city has a large black population or a large Hispanic population. They’re the ones having kids.
