WATSONVILLE >> Forty cents might not seem like much, but multiply it by two or three kids and fork it over daily for school lunch and it begins to add up especially for families struggling to get by in Santa Cruz County.
That's why Pajaro Valley Unified School District officials have decided to stop charging families who are eligible for a discounted meal under the federal school lunch program.

Families that qualify also are eligible for discounted Internet service from Comcast
So these folks who can't feed their kids get a break on their cable TV bill. Makes you just want to get up and go to work in the morning.
Why would families be struggling to get by? Maybe because of anti-family government policies?
Free lunch? No such thing. And now discounted Internet service? That is discrimination! I don’t get a discount. Do you really think that will be an issue? Dont hold your breath.
Comcast is the local internet and cable service. Don’t think these folks are surfing the web but more likely watching Univision on their 52 inch flat screen.
They even complain about forty cents for a meal?
That is fast internet service for $10 a month for up to 2 years, subsidized by YOU.
How wonderful, right?
40 cents times 3 kids is $1.20 per day. That’s less than 200 bucks per school year.
Quit your god damned whining and pay for your OWN DAMNED KIDS!!,
I work for Comcast and you have no idea how much this pisses those of us in sales off. Wwe bust our asses hitting a quota that was handed down by God himself to pay for this crap.
Welcome to America we will feed your kids, give you free Internet and cable TV.
Local TV in Houston today reported on the large percentage increase of 5-14 year olds in the top ten cities. Every city has a large black population or a large Hispanic population. They’re the ones having kids.
We use Comcast for the internet, period. It costs us around $75 per month. We will soon be moving out into the mountains where Comcast doesn’t provide service. We will probably have to use satellite comms.
its a subsidy for the farmers. they don’t have to pay workers more when the public subsidizes.
You can bet it is not just Comcast offering this “deal”
