When the stupid class consists of immigrants, legal and illegal, and the public schooled, 63% seems a little on the high side.

That’s real close to Obama’s current approval. Sharpton may not have been confused when he seemed to say Republicans control the Senate; a little pre-election misdirection/ misinformation ?

Similarly, 18% think the GOP is in charge in the Senate, but 19% are not sure . . . and 3% still want to be a fire truck.

Americans are too uninformed for self-government; Franklin feared they might be, but Jefferson was hopeful. Washington would impose a civics test for voting if he were around.

That civics test is a very good idea. I’ve thought of it many times when I read about stupid people that vote. It needs to be across the board for everyone simply because we can’t target just Democrats, and women.

It’s impossible to vote the bastards out when the majority of voters don’t even know who the bastards are.

Part of the confusion may be that although John Boehner ‘controls’ congress, much of the time, he doesn’t act or sound like a leader. Boehner is one who reacts, after the fact, to other peoples’ decisions. Nancy Pelosi, is the minority leader, but still makes declarative statements, expresses her full-on, unapologecticaly partisan opinions, and makes her position on anything quite clear.
The average voter is not a news hound like us, and may mistake Nancy’s boldness as a settled matter from a leader of congress. When Boenher wants to, he can come on strong and direct, he has the deep resonant voice and knows how to deliver a weighty line. However, Boehner follows that up with more Lap-Dogging, RINO behavior, canceling out any faith in his leadership ability once again.

There was a very good reason that universal suffrage WAS NOT part of the original plan.

Betcha they don’t know there are three branches of government, term lengths, responsibilities, limitations, number of members, or who their elected congresscritters are.

I suspect this 63 percent is a little high; I think it is more like 45 percent.
