Funding for the conference was provided by Clinton donor and Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire Gilbert Chagoury, according to organizers. The wealthy businessman pledged $1 billion to the Clinton Global Initiative in 2009.
Chagoury is also reportedly backer of Lebanese politician Michel Aoun, Hezbollahs top Christian ally in the country, according to U.S. diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks.
Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Raï, who was scheduled to speak during the same keynote slot as Cruz on Wednesday evening, has called Israel an enemy state that is occupying Lebanese territory and defended Hezbollahs right to attack the Jewish state...

I decided we should be present and not let the bad representatives of Middle East Christians hijack the true message of Christianity, which is basically democracy, tolerance, co-existence, inclusiveness, said Gebeily.
It wasnt a very quick and easy decision, but since we were given this opportunity, I said lets go and see and face those advocates of tyranny and crimes against humanity.

Well done, Sir!
Not all Christendom recognizes the way that the destiny of Jews and Christians are intertwined. Some go for viewpoints that are so supersessionist that they do not even allow a modern divinely blessed role for the Jews. Cruz had the right to highlight that fact. He could have soft pedaled the issue, but didn’t.
Our priest (Catholic) tells a story once a year during Passover, because there are still echoes of the whole “Christ Killer” thing even now.
The Almighty is talking to the Son, before the Nativity. He says “My Son, the Jewish people are my chosen people. I promised them that. Yet humanity has taken my wish for them to be fruitful and multiply more seriously than all the Commandments combined. They are yours to bring Home.”
It’s a silly little story, I know. But it gets the point across, quite clearly. Fr. Peters is a very smart man.
if only more of our side would do the same thing
Heard a libtard peeing himself at a bar tonight over Ted Cruz getting booed by “Christians” and Sarah Palin’s family getting “thrown out” over a “drunken brawl”.
He then said that McGovern wasn’t a wimp/dove/peacenik and that John Kerry was an honorable man.
I didn’t ask him where he buys his medical pot.
Unfortunately, too many people don’t realize that at the time Jesus was crucified, the Temple at Jerusalem had devolved into a corrupt organization under Roman rule. In effect, some scholars theorized that Temple leaders wanted Jesus out of the way because Jesus exposed the corruption at the Temple.
McGovern was not a wimp. He was a brave war hero.
My head is spinning as to how a Christian group would ally with Hezbollah.
ChINO = Christian In Name Only
On a sidenote, it’s nice to see the work of Alana Goodman. I used to read her when she reported for the second incarnation of the New York Sun, which shut down several years ago.
Genocide is serious business. It’s best that conservatives stick to fact based arguments. That is suppose to be what defines us. Based on actual facts, numbers, and reality as opposed to dogma.
To paraphrase Cruz for a moment, the facts are: “and today, Christians have no greater allie than The French.”
Cruz misspoke. His statement is easily disproven by numbers.
Like it or not facts are facts. Genocide is serious business, everyone is better served by staying focused on reality.
That being said CRUZ 2016 all the way!
He also shone the light on the weak-kneed Quisling Republicans who jumped to condemn him.
He was indeed a brave war hero. Unfortunately, his political ideology was 180 degrees out of phase. Sadly for him, he learned late in life (trying to run a bed & breakfast) how the free enterprise system works.
Remember what Eric Nordstrom said in a Congressional hearing Oct 10, 2012 .”The Taliban is on the inside of the building”
Interesting, thanks.
I’d always assumed Jesus whipping the money changers from the Temple was both fact and allegory at the same time - a pesher, if you will. Nice to have that confirmed!
