The mother of James Foley -- an American journalist beheaded by ISIS militants -- said she is "embarrassed and appalled" by how the U.S. government dealt with her son's case, telling CNN that officials even suggested family members could be charged if they raised ransom to free him. "I think our efforts to get Jim freed were an annoyance" to the U.S. government, Diane Foley told CNN's Anderson Cooper, during part of an interview that will air on CNN at 8 p.m. ET. "It didn't seem to be in (U.S.) strategic interest, if you will."
Officials told Foley family members "not go to the media," and that the "government would not exchange prisoners," or carry out "military action" to try to rescue her son, according to Diane Foley.

And the liar Susan Rice makes much of their valiant effort to rescue Foley - without saying that Foley and his captors were already gone from there when the “help” arrived BECAUSE OBAMA DELAYED UNTIL ISIS AND THE CAPTIVE FOLEY COULD GET OUT OF THE PLACE WE HAD KNOWN THEY WERE. Obama made sure that our military’s “valiant efforts” would ONLY be “optics”.

if possible, I could go along with an attempt to free the hostage, but I think that offering a ransom just magnifies the potential for future hostages to be taken.
