Special Air Service...what do they do? I'm slightly familiar with our “Air Cav”...choppers inserting troops into the fight IIRC.Is the SAS anything like that?

Special Air Service...what do they do? Basically elite special forces soldiers - among the best in the world. The term 'Special Air Service' was adopted during the Second World War partly to conceal what they really did - it made them look like they had something to do with planes when they didn't - and the reputation they forged meant the name became one to be proud of, and so it is retained.

"Special Air Service...what do they do?" Pretty much anything that needs to be done. Remember the Iranian Embassy siege in London back in 1980?

The Aussie SAS are similar to our special forces but on steroids from hell.
