Your question has nothing to do with the basic question of whether it is appropriate to arm schools with MRAPs, and all about deflecting attention with an appeal to the wallet.
No sale. I'll stay on target and say giving the school an MRAP is inappropriate, I don't care how much money the government wasted on their toy.

His premise is flawed. The choices aren’t destruction or give to a school district. A wise policy would provide these to the border patrol or a federal agency that is trained and isn’t pointing them at the US citizenry. Failing that, give it to the national guard, train local guardsman how to use them, and call them out to help if and when there is a siege at a school. That makes it available if needed at a courthouse, jail, high-rise condo, park, beach or whatever.
