Yes, I remember that but it was beyond President Reagan's control since the price drop was engineered by DemonRATs who wanted to destroy the booming Texas economy. Even then, the free market flourished due to Reaganomics and jobs for those displaced in that temporary downturn were plentiful. That's why, in spite of the efforts of the 'RATs to hurt Texas, things turned around in a relatively short period of time.
I made a lot of money during the Reagan years of prosperity and prudently saved and invested it. Thankfully when Kommie KKKlintoon came along and wrecked the economy, Newt Gingrich's Contract with America fixed things for another wave of real prosperity and good times. No wonder that FR was all in for Newt in 2012!
