Well, in this case I hope the union (IFFA?) better step in. Were they told to do this to not offend somebody? Seperation of state and fire station? Will the chit-cago FD no longer fly the American flag? What BS!

When was the display of the American flag ever authorized for any/every Chicago Fire Department uniform? Or did employees just decide just decide to haphazardly redesign their own work gear? Whether at work or in the Army, I was expected to wear what I was issued. What's unpatriotic about following the rules?
The emphasis is on the word "uniform," not "I did it my way."

Every firefighter my husband works with would be suspended. And the IAFF is a joke. Did you know firefighters as a whole opposed Obamacare before it was ever implemented? The IAFF said “we understand your concerns but are only a small part of the AFL-CIO, which supports the ACA”.
