The Hebrew word is a hapex legomenon, and while it does have a reasonable number of other words with which it shares a common root, I wouldn’t take it to the bank. It is quite possible that it refers to a writing that would identify one as the property of a particular person or deity.

Are your sideburns unshorn and do you have an uncut beard? This is part of the Mosaic Law that the believer is not under obligation to follow.
If I recall, that referred to tattooing "pagan" signs on ones body, but I might be wrong.......
