As a dog returns to its vomit, so Washington’s pro golfer returns to doing what he does best; failing at golf as badly as he fails at everything else.

CHUCK TODD: I got to ask, so– so during that vacation, you made the statement on Foley. You went and golfed. Do you– do you want that back?
PRESIDENT OBAMA: You know, it is always a challenge when you’re supposed to be on vacation. Because you’re followed everywhere. And part of what I’d love is a vacation from—
CHUCK TODD: Yeah, you want to–
PRESIDENT OBAMA: –the– the press and– and– because–
CHUCK TODD: I promise you, 2 1/2 years, I think that happens.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Because the possibility of a jarring contrast given the world’s news, is always– there’s always going to be some tough news somewhere– is going to be there. But there’s no doubt that– after having talked to the families, where it was hard for me to hold back tears listening to the pain that they were going through, after the statement that I made, that you know, I should’ve anticipated the optics.
Oh yes. I think we all know how many tears he was holding up. We saw all of them on the golf course later. So now he followed up his latest interview on the optics of golfing in wartime… by going golfing.
“You know, I actually feel energized about the opportunities that we’ve got,” Obama told the “Meet the Press” moderator in a sit-down interview taped Saturday. And after finishing, the president quickly headed to Fort Belvoir, Virginia, for an afternoon of golf in 90-degree-plus heat.”
It’s like he’s not even bothering anymore.
What exactly does Obama need these constant vacations from? What does he actually do? Make viral videos? Nod off during briefings? He implies that he needs a vacation from the press. The press never stops slobbering over him for one solid minute.
Chuck Todd showed off his journalistic chops by rushing to make excuses for him. This is what Obama needs a vacation from? Is his ass tired of getting kissed?
He doesn’t need to apologize for golfing. He needs to apologize for being President.
You’re right. But half the country voted for him TWICE which shows that he could have been an ax murder and won.
Also, shouldn’t he have gone pro by now? He plays more golf that a pro practicing for an open. Dang he’s got to be good at something besides reading a teleprompter.
Not exactly an expert on the rules of golf but I doubt if you get to pick the best of ten shots and then play from there.
