White House reportedly planning years-long campaign to destroy ISIS
Published September 08, 2014 ·FoxNews.com
The Obama administration is reportedly preparing a campaign to destroy the Islamic State militant group that could outlast the president's remaining time in office, according to a published report.
The New York Times, citing U.S. officials, reported late Sunday that the White House plan involves three phases that some Pentagon officials believe will require at least three years of sustained effort.
The first phase, airstrikes against Islamic State, also known as ISIS, is already underway in Iraq, where U.S. aircraft have launched 143 attacks since August 8. The second phase involves an intensified effort to train, advise, and equip the Iraqi army, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, and any Sunni tribesmen willing to fight their ISIS co-religionists. The Times reports that this second phase will begin sometime after Iraq forms a new government, which could happen sometime this week.

They plan on destroying ISIS, but they will leave ISIL intact.
Just nuke the place.
Smart move. Tell the enemy your plans.
First impression after reading the headline is that
Obama’s flying alllll over the country (not that he’s not doing it already) to give years-long speeches about fighting IS/ISIS/ISIL.
Come on. It shouldn’t take long to wipe out this Jayvee squad. I’m series.
Smart move. Tell the enemy your plans.
Correction: “Smart move. Tell your allies your plans.”
Of course he is. We are sure to be inundated with his endless speeches while bombing ISIS may be spotty and piecemeal.

While “campaigning”
but I thought Iraq wasn’t so important. The important war was Afghanistan according to Mr. Obama.
If at all. Obama created ISIS. Why should he bomb them?
Maybe ISIS lunatics stop beheading people, Zero will calm down and forget about ISIS. That is, from his view, ISIS without beheading = manageable problem.
I can just hear it; "We will fight them on the fund-raising circuit, we will fight them in Martha's Vineyard, we will fight them on the golf course...we will never fight them to win."
Another storm of BS from the Muslim, illegal alien in the White House.
Kicking the can down the road!
That’s all he’s capable of!
At this point, that question is old....like the GOP.
The question/observation now is the “years” long campaign. ISIS is now more dangerous than Al-queda and “years” long sort of bothers me.
One of the terrorists best tactics is wearing down the resolve of their victims. You know...that whole Stockholm Syndrome thing.
The country is terrorist weary, war on terror weary and this is why we NEED a leader who will make a declaration of war. These politically correct wars, proxy wars etc. really are not protecting us or stopping the enemy.
Is 0bama the man to lead this campaign, clearly not. And in fact he may be counting on this strategy to finally bring down our resolve to protect ourselves. Lord knows his every campaign so far has not been our benefit. When he is replaced ...I will pray and weep for the new President for he/she truly will have more courage than the entire nation. I pray today that there is a leader like this or that God’s hand raises him up from amongst us.
Beheading people is what they do. Can a leopard change its spots? Can a tiger change its stripes? Don’t kid your self, as long as it is not his head they are cutting off, Obama has not the slightest concern about ISIS cutting off people’s heads.
riiiiiiggggghhhhhtttt.....ISIS is his peeps! They both have the same goal...destroy the US.
Because Malaki was so eager to shove the Sunnis out of power he wouldn’t negotiate an agreement for us to stay. So the Sunni tribal leaders who sided with us during the surge turned to ISIS. The Sunni soldiers didn’t want to fight for a Shiite dominated government, so they dropped their guns and went home. At least that’s my armchair take on it.
