No. Michael Brown’s size only became relevant after some claimed he was a gentle giant, with the emphasis on gentle. If Michael Brown charged the police as some claim, then his size is certainly relevant. We know Michael was unarmed. That’s not disputed, but would a charging unarmed giant be a greater threat than a smaller person? I think so, and if the policeman reasonably feared for his life, he’s allowed to defend himself.
Of course I don’t know what’s true or not about this shooting. I hope our legal system is able to wade through the nonsense and reach a just conclusion. Some people will likely be disgruntled with the result regardless, but what’s better? Do we really want to settle these cases in the streets? I hope not.
