All released later as no alcoholic drinks were found
Saudi religious police raided an apartment and rounded up more than 100 Asian men and women attending a mixed-gender party.
Police later released all of them after a search showed there were no alcoholic drinks and the guests were not involved in obscene acts, Sada daily said.
Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice had stormed the apartment in the southern Khamis Mushait town following a tip off that a booze party is taking place in that area.
After they did not find any alcoholic drinks and the guests were not involved in any obscene acts, Commission released them after they promised not to repeat such acts which violate the Kingdoms Sharia laws, the paper said.
It did not identify those involved but said they were all from an east Asian country.
Good thing they’re not allowed on embassy grounds or in the residences of embassy personnel,
I never got an invite to a private compound or where the locals lived.. Dry is relative.. But I hear Johnnie Walker and more can be found.
This is just picking on the workers.
Oh the horrors.
I’ve heard that there is an underground market where you can get alcohol and pork.
It is the Middle East, you can get anything. Singing goats, fainting goats, modeling goats.. Oh yeah,,
If that’s true, why don’t they have more chupacabra?
What were they doing? Listening to K-Pop?
Some questions are best left unanswered. But..
Who knows? A biodiversity thingy.. The Filipino workers ate them all?
Altho they seem to thrive in arid lands.. And tropical too per some reports..
“Mixed gender.”
For a second, I thought they were talking about some new gay fringe group.
Much ado about nothing.
Don't repeat those acts you didn't do.
In the Middle East, men who eschew homosexuality are only allowed to pary with camels.
Sorry - my bad.
Change ‘pary’ to ‘party.’
We used to send over programmers to work with the BBoME. Sometimes they simply couldn't get their passports back after several months of work, even though the contract clearly stated no more than 3 months in country.
Sometimes it took a call directly to one of the managing partners of parent HSBC to have the passports waiting at the airport in short order.
What goes on behind the walls of the British compound certainly stays there.
“If thats true, why dont they have more chupacabra?”
Delicacy. They ship it back to Japan. They call it “Land Tuna.”
