Fomer Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney argued Sunday that he'd make a better president than Hillary Clinton -- but that he's not planning to mount a third bid for the White House.
"No question about that in my mind," he said on "Fox News Sunday" when asked by host Chris Wallace whether he'd be a better leader than Clinton.
Prodded by Wallace, Romney insisted he has no plans to run but stopped short of a Shermanesque refusal.
"Im not running, Im not planning on running," he said.
Romney said that while he also would've made a better president than Barack Obama, "My time has come and gone. I had that opportunity. I ran and didnt win."
Romney made waves last month when he told a radio interviewer that while he's not interested in running, "circumstances can change."

And they don't want the stark contrast in their response brought to the forefront.
When you thrown the debates and don’t hit the other person with hard truth, you lose.
“Of course, the main question is theological. Can a Mormon become a Martyr and take down a whole country with him ...again? Pope Frankie, Enquiring minds want to know.”
Pure nastiness on your part.
Altogether now, AMEN!
There is no theological question merely the barbs and digs of those that fear Christian thoughts other than their own
Romney is doing a kind of victory dance of what could have been
Mitt is a good man ...not my preference but still a hell of a lot better than O
He deserves this “Could of Been” victory lap...then we move on
Absolutely. However, still awaiting Mitt The Mormon Milquetoast's evaluation of Islam. You see, theology is important to me, as opposed to religion as practiced.
So, sorry.
And yes, this weak-kneed Latter Day Saint gave us ... GAVE us I say ... a queer disbarred African Marxist as a two-term President... by discouraging turnout.
Romney, although not the ultimate “conservative” candidate (is there one?), would have been eons better than Ozero. The people who will “never vote for Romney” if he’s the candidate again are apparently happier being ruled by a Democrat. Oh, I forgot, there’s no difference - eh? Flimsy statement at best. I will vote for ANY Republican presidential candidate over a Democrat, even if he/she doesn’t stand in line with me on every issue.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
“Romney would have made a better President by far than King Obama. Why don’t you idiots just leave the man alone. He is getting messages out to the voters now that no other Republican is doing. Only you idiots keep hammering are really looking stupid. He is not running but trying to do some good for the party and that is more I can say about some of you idiots. Grow the F up!”
Reading these Romney threads really is quite comical. I get a kick out of them. If I knew how, I would post a Romney thread every day just to read the reactions. It is better than TV. Somebody should do a composite of who the “perfect” candidate would be. I’d like to see that photo.
Quite an emotional post for Logical.
You are missing.the point. The hatred that came from the top of free Republic was what I was referring to.
Another miss, I don’t love GOP liberals. I just think anybody was better than Obama. I saw Obama is the greater danger to this nation. Do you disagree?
my original statement stands.
Furthermore, the belief in the apotheosis of upper level Latter Day Saints as "Gods" on other planets does not strike me as very Christian. However, these 'scientological-type beliefs' don't affect others very much, and the material benefits they bring converts, in particular Third World converts, is certainly very admirable.
For non-Mormons, the fact that Harry Reid is just as good ... if not a more powerful Mormon ... than Milquetoast Mitt is at least of interest. Is it not?
OBTW, I did vote for the guy as the much preferable candidate to the gay golfer.
The queer, dog-eating, moslem, Nazi...in chief?
The perfect candidate would not be someone who left the GOP because of Reagan, and then became a democrat supporter, fund raiser, and voter, only returning to the GOP at the end of 1993, and becoming the most liberal major republican in history, so liberal that after winning the nomination, he came out against the pro-life platform, restated his pro-abortion position, and support for gay Scout leaders, and ran pro-choice ads in Ohio, Wisconsin, and Virginia, managing to lose an election that was unlosable.
Romney despised Reagan and conservatism, and left the party because of him.
All Christian denominations from Catholic to Baptist, Orthodox, to Methodist and more, agree that Mormonism is a separate religion, it isn’t Christian.
