He either has a cocaine problem or is not very good at the bribing and money laundering thing.

Actually he was exceptionally good as a crook. However, when a crook is caught his sources of crooked income are very reluctant to pay him more largess, they will no longer pay bribes etc. unless they can get a great return for the corrupt investment. That is just the way things work.

Definitely not of the same “cut of cloth” as William “Cold Cash” Jefferson. Maybe he can brush up on his stealing if they get to be “roomies” at the Greybar Hotel.

I forgot to add, Ray Nagin makes me miss Carlos Marcello. At least the Mafia had standards and rules of business. When they bought someone they stayed bought or else. With Ray Nagin you had to keep buying him time after time. I wonder who really brought him down?

Does anyone know if his entire lifestyle has now been downgraded correspondingly? Is he living in cheap public housing, using public transportation, etc.?

He was only convicted of taking maybe $150K in liquid-asset bribes (mostly “consulting fees”) five-plus years ago. That can only last so long.

Most of the stuff he was convicted of taking was steak dinners, plane tickets, and slabs of granite.

Just recently visited the Mob Museum in Vegas. Ol’ Carlos and the rest of the Dons are high-lighted. I ate at Elmwood Plantation 40 years ago. Carlos’ restaurant on River Road.

Nagin needs to stay away from Jesse Jackson Jr. attorneys... Jesse had to serve time. Oh well, this is just another Democrat making a ‘mistakes’... or as the rest of the culture calls it - ‘committing a crime’.
