This is why Bush II is responsible. Bush,the Elder, was able to unite the arab countries to oust Saddam from Kuwait. When 9/11 came there was an acceptance in the arab countries that the US would go after the perpetrators. Instead Bush attacked Iraq who was not involved with 9/11. This was interpreted as an attack on arab countries. Whatever stability there was in the region was broken. The US was the enemy. All sorts of groups keep getting spawned. For eight years the media also characterized Bush as "intellectually uncurious" despite the fact that those who know him describe him as an avid reader of books on history and other serious topics. We all know how it works - "Whatever does not fit the narrative must be ignored or misrepresented." Few groups seem to me to be as aggressively biased and prejudiced as journalists.

We not only lifted many export licenses for Iraq, we removed them from State Department's list of terrorist countries in 82. We also supplied them with satellite imagery, Iranian defense locations and other intelligence assets for the use of chemical weapons against Iran.

As for pathogens and such, look up the Riegle report. We exported over 50 shipments of anthrax alone to Iraq.

Totally correct. We immediately sent people there as soon as we could and the records located there and at Abu Graib were used to bring down quite a few groups. Look up the aerial pictures from that time and you can see the plane body they used for the training. But the MEME is that AQ had no connection with Saddam. What malarkey.
