Gunmen Seize Government Ministries As Libya Spirals Further Into Chaos

By LAURA KING Armed militiamen take over most government ministries in Tripoli as Libya continues to devolve into chaos Libyan government admits that 'most of the ministries and institutions' in Tripoli are out of its control Armed militiamen have seized control of most Libyan government ministries in the capital, Tripoli, the transitional government acknowledged early Monday, in the latest sign of a dramatic deterioration of Libya’s trappings of statehood.

Energy-rich Libya has slipped ever deeper into chaos since the toppling of longtime dictator Moammar Kadafi in 2011. The armed groups that were allies in the fight to depose him have turned on one another, fighting for oil wealth and political control.

The government and the elected parliament last month decamped to the eastern city of Tobruk, near the Egyptian border, and Islamist-linked militias from the western city of Misrata hold sway in the capital, having driven out rival armed groups. Libya now has two competing parliaments, with each declaring the other illegitimate.

In the latest chaotic development in Tripoli, gunmen surrounded government offices, threatened ministers with assassination and prevented employees from entering their workplaces, the transitional administration said in its statement, adding that “most of the ministries and institutions and commissions” in Tripoli were now outside its control.

Wow, Hillary really did a great thing forcing out a (mostly) harmless old wacko like Col. Qaddafi and letting these wackos take over.

Almost as good as she did supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.

And the Syrians “rebels” who turned into ISIL.

And the Russian “re-set” that probably turned into the start of either Cold War II or WWIII.

I’m just a dumb old football player, but a college coach with a record like that would get fired, let alone never make it to the NFL.

How anyone can take her seriously is beyond me.

Egypt
Iraq
Syria
Israel
Libya
Afghanistan
I know I missed a few,

“How anyone can take her seriously is beyond me.”

No matter what she already has California and New York, and MA, DE, NJ in her (hand) bag.

Muslim Brotherhood seized the White House in 2009. It is a breathtaking bit of geopolitical judo when you think about it.

And since then we have been on the other side of the “war on terror”.
