The re-election campaign of U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has gained momentum in the last month, propelled by huge leads over Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in Western and Eastern Kentucky and among men, according to a new Bluegrass Poll.
With less than 10 weeks until Election Day, the poll of 569 likely voters shows McConnell with a 4-point lead over Grimes, up from a 2 point margin a month ago. McConnell now leads Grimes 46 percent to 42 percent...

Open primaries are a joke. The RNC doesn't control that, your Republican State Committee does.
If you and your ilk can't infiltrate and comandeer that, then you are truly powerless (not in the game).
when a conservative does win a nomination, the GOP generally pouts and stomps their feet and abandons them.
If you control the State Committee, that won't happen at the state level. The RNC is only so helpful anyway.
Your conservative GOP candidate will need your help raising money from other sources....you know, the old fashioned way.
I will support a conservative candidate, and have, knocking on doors etc...
Regardless of party.
I've also campaigned AGAINST certain liberal republican candidates. It was good to see them fired.
It's not that I'm not in the game, I'm just not going to play by the crooked GOP-E rules.
That's why I'm willing to not vote for the pub in the general election.
It's a two-way street.

No. There are not. Period.
I'm not a republican. I'm a conservative.
Then pick a side, otherwise you have nowhere else to go.
You don't get to make rules about what I'm allowed to do. You'd like to, but you don't get to.
I'll keep voting conservative, and working for conservatives.

Why not, there are conservatives in there who need your help overthrowing RINO leadership.
I will support a conservative candidate, and have, knocking on doors etc... Regardless of party.
Really, and what have your precious RAT "conservatives" done for you?
I've also campaigned AGAINST certain liberal republican candidates. It was good to see them fired.
Good! Who would have a problem with that, unless you elected a RAT?
It's not that I'm not in the game, I'm just not going to play by the crooked GOP-E rules.
Who says you have to?
That's why I'm willing to not vote for the pub in the general election.
What if he's a conservative?
How do you expect them to control any legislative committees without a majority REGARDLESS of the various legislator's "squish factor"?
It's a two-way street.
That's what I've been saying...get on one side or the other.
Name one.
The “Blue dogs” fold up like a cardboard suitcase. They’re called that because they’ve been choked by their own party.
If you would put half the effort into supporting conservatives that you put into defending liberal republicans, you might do some good.
The two way street is that I don't have to vote for liberal republicans if the republicans won't respect a primary win if the candidate is conservative.
You can wear yourself out over this, but I won't ever vote for the liberals that you defend.
McConnell needs to lose. And it looks like he's headed that way, since an incumbent in a leadership position with only a 4% lead (within the margin of error) is very, very weak.
Your party will keep losing, and I don't care, if they are liberal.
/johnny
No wonder you lose, you can't keep the liberals out of your party.
There was an article today about Rove having 2 senate candidates run to the LEFT of the Dem.
You support that.
/johnny
I DO NOT defend RINOs, but the “R” counts regardless.
You, however, do not believe in or understand “majority rule”.
Republicans tend to be liberals. Dems almost always are.
I've chosen sides. I'll stay conservative.
The choice isn't about party, since both major parties are primarily liberal.
And yes, if you defend the R, you defend liberal republicans.
/johnny
No, I'm not.
No wonder you lose, you can't keep the liberals out of your party.
They're social democrats, who've taken over the schools, colleges, news organizations, churches, social organizations, the government bureaucracy and all the cities. Of course they've infiltrated the GOP...it wasn't always that way.
There was an article today about Rove having 2 senate candidates run to the LEFT of the Dem. ...You support that.
Hell no.
I know that if liberal republicans never win another race, there will be room for a conservative party.
That's the long term view of majority rule.
/johnny
If you vote for a liberal republican, you ARE a liberal.
/johnny
Liberals?! RATs and their party are unashamed Communists. If you help elect them, you are an enemy of the American People.
Then politically destroy them without mercy, even if you lose a short term gain. Otherwise, they are there forever, and you will continue to lose.
/johnny
/johnny
We have five years at the most....you'd better get crackin'.
But I will keep up my effort at politically destroying liberal republicans so they never, ever win another race.
Your party won lots of primaries, by hook or by crook. Lets see if they can win General elections in November without the conservatives that they declared war on.
