(Not so) good morning n’@ for us Quinn and Rose Fans!
Thanks for the heads up Raccoonradio...and a Ping to sneaks for our “list.”
Yup—WJAS actually is streamed live on one (and as far as I know only one) streaming service, iHeartRadio which is run by Clear Channel (CC’s Premiere division syndicates Beck, Rush,
Hannity, and Coast to Coast). I would think that would be avilable to them...?

Thank you for posting. I hope they end up somewhere, especially for my mom’s sake, AND that WJAS boosts their signal or something.
Or did they want to to stream themselves (off of their own webpage—kind like their podcasts from when they were on air).
Now putting on my tinfoil (I know...it will block even MORE of the WJAS weak signal) but if another party does the streaming or archiving can they also edit/lose broadcasts or REFUSE to stream or store items not deemed #truthy (the NEWEST WH strategy at censorship). Gotta admit, Quinn has been “out there” on top of a lot of stories before the the “big talkers” ever even whispered them.
And, LOLZ, if I’m way off base, be kind...
Note that some of the shows you like might be available for you on WWVA 1170 Wheeling or WKBN 570 Youngstown.
Here is the APPROXIMATE signal area of WJAS. Take with a grain of salt!
DAY:
NIGHT:
The tower is to the east of Rt 8 where it intersects with Rt 130 (Allegheny R Blvd), just E of highland park/zoo area. Across from Aspinwall.
A bit on the scratchy side out here in central Westmoreland County (Greensburg/New Stanton).
Morning PaMom!
Pinging the Q&R list!
mornin’ everybuddy!
WJAS owner Frank Iorio is on my
unofficial WJAS facebook group
and writes:
“The story is not true! Q&R were to be on I-Heart live. Why they would say streaming was essential for their audience and then not wanting to be on I-Heart is because they wanted to be able to charge their listners a fee. They wanted to make more money for people to listen to the show.”
Good afternoon AM!
I don’t understand all this. They were streaming before, on WPGB, and also had a members area for a fee. You could still download podcasts even if you were not a paying member and of course the streaming was available on the station website. I don’t understand what benefits you got for being a paying member.
Yes, I’m confused. Sounds like they just have Q&R and Iorio have their wires crossed somewhere?
Were they on things like TuneIn and Live365 or just on iHeart? CC may restrict some of their stations to iHeart only. Who knows (I had tried tunein for WJAS and only got via iHeart) As with other CC stations, the stream on the site was via iHeart...it sounds like they want people to pay to hear the live stream and/or podcasts but you say people could still download even if they’re not paying members.
Again Iorio joined my facebook group and that was his response...
I was never a paying member, and I have a number of their programs still on my mp3 player and on my computer that I downloaded - all for free. I streamed their show live from WPGB. It was always free to stream. Maybe they are talking about streaming directly from the warroom, but that would make no sense if WJAS had a live stream via CC. I can’t remember what the paying members got for their money. Maybe p6 and PaMom will remember.
Access to archive data along with a few extras.
FWIW I have heard the hang up was syndication and Sat radio. NOT from reliable sources though which is why I haven’t posted much about it.
CC does not like TuneIn.
Right, which is why they want people to listen via their iHeart. Their recently flipped country stations in Boston (WBWL), Pittsburgh (WPGB) and York Ctr Me (WSKX) are all via iHeart only. I tried to enter WJAS into TuneIn and thought silly me, they don’t carry Clear Channel stations. They also don’t have WRVA in Richmond VA which has former WXKS (AM) Boston talker Jeff Katz.
Boston talker Howie Carr mentions he’s on TuneIn and Live365 but he also says he’s on TuneIn via stations in western MA
and Cape Cod that are Clear Channel. And those stations are not on the other streamers.
thanks all for the info!
WRVA in Richmond VA
Was one of my fav stations when I was growing up. Later...’80’s? there was a local overnight show, The Voice of the American Trucker. Pull into the 79 Truck stop and get a free rig wash with a fill up. National show originating from the 79 station near the WRVA studios.
