Indeed, since 9/11, the U.S. has never been out of the crosshairs of Islamist terrorists. At least 60 of their plots against the U.S. homeland have been thwarted over the last 13 years.
ISIS has at least as much resources as al-Qaeda did at the height of its powers in 2001. It’s closer to the West. ISIS also has three decades of transnational terrorism operations and expertise to draw on. Finally, according to a forthcoming report from the Countering Terrorism Center at West Point, the organization has been growing and planning for four years—plenty of time to put a successful operation together.
The U.S. government has known for quite some time that Vegas—a symbol of Western decadence—is a prime target, and they’ve taken that threat quite seriously. The city has received anti-terrorism grants for years from the Department of Homeland Security. The department also set up an Information Sharing and Analysis Center in part to address the vulnerabilities and threats to the entertainment, lodging, and shopping activities that dominate the Vegas economy.

I would hate to see the US hit. I know a lot of good people live around there, but if the took the strip off the map it would be no great loss.
Very vunerable city—as are most tourist sites. How to attack? Simple if you don’t mind dying in the blast. frankly, I am surprised it hasn’t happened yet.
Since ISIS would intend to end the Mob’s business with extreme prejudice, the Mob would have no qualms about whacking anyone necessary to ensure it stops and doesn’t happen again.
There is only one water supply for the city right?
ISIS might also be too busy at the out of town brothels in Nevada and never even get into Vegas.
I’ll bet within a week there wouldn’t be a synagogue left standing in one of the eleven western states.
LOL! We passed some of them on 95 driving to Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Uh, ain’t no way I’d stop at one of those in the middle of NFW.
It’s been speculateds these three fugitives had a goal to take out lake powell dam but were stopped prior to carrying it out.
