Twice in the past 30 minutes, when executing a link to one of the FreeRepublic posts, Firefox sent me a warning page that the "site" I was going to was a malware threat.
In more detail, the notice explained that it gets that threat info from Google, and that FreeRepublic had been identified as a "malware" threat.
Who knows if some troll got p-o'd or if WH trolls are involved in having set up the threat notice at Google.
I don't know what the mods can do.
I did NOT get it from Yahoo
not certain what to say Geron. Am going to take a wild guess. Didn’t something similar happen before 9-11? Anyone remember?
serious oops.

The above statement is yours. Your “accuracy” isn't so good.
It is factually incorrect. And what I posted was factually correct. Yet you are bent on rudely correcting me...
Jim fixed the problem not based on the OS or the browser... He “fixed” the issue by removing what offended Google’s search engine sensibilities. What I've been saying all along.
I don’t remember anything like that.... always had a bad memory for a long of things
dang
It is a “Browser Prefs” setting...for Firefox see: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-phishing-and-malware-protection-work#w_how-do-i-use-the-phishing-and-malware-protection-features Browsers use the Google “list” that is generated by Google’s web-crawling scans to ID bad sites/links. Turn it off in your browser “prefs” (under “security” usually). Someone posted a malware link at post #4 of that thread, and a mod has since deleted the post....Google’s list hasn’t caught up, or may not ever catch-up/update.
And I had begun to believe you were so much more intellectually capable.
*drums fingers* *exasperated look*
May no harm befall you. Travel prayers and nice +20.

That is my problem (memory) too Geron. Almost afraid to go out and do a search at this point. Might take a look out there in the a.m. or next day. There have been too many warnings and to many oddities ... thus am confused. No problems thus far with going upper ‘x’ route and am running virus protection software but Lord only knows what tomorrow holds.

Right, then. Well, as long as it was not seriously intentioned, I withdraw My previous comment.
On a text browser from after the century mark?
Oh hell yeah.
I mean.. back in the 90s, we had to have text browsers... but yeah, I can do double entendre without actually meaning to. And take it as my own.
Seriously.... A text browser that was developed after GPUs? Really? and you want me to take it seriously?
Cough.... Sure...
I can be serious.

No, I meant about the other “name”, not Dillo itself.
Nothing wrong with a text browser from this point of view -especially from those of us with slow bandwidth connections!
Firefox.
That's why developers run different OS'es and different browsers.
Yours presented you with a warning.
It would be helpful to know which OS and which browser.
Just because you don't think it matters doesn't make it so.
I'm still running a Windoze XP box and Exploder around here somewhere, so I know what gets presented.
Every browser presents differently.

Went ahead and went out to do a search for cyber attack information prior to 9-11. Will share if find anything relevant.
And the build number matters.
I don't suppose you know how to find that.

You have repeatedly missed my point.
If you search Google for “FreeRepublic WH Responds to Petition to Demand Release of Marine Held in Mexico” and then select the first link provided - http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CB4QFjAA&url=%2Finterstitial%3Furl%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.freerepublic.com%2Ffocus%2Ff-news%2F3198639%2Fposts&ei=73YBVIzdNIK8igLx0IHYDQ&usg=AFQjCNGVL5abVhrDOOfZGnCpLKVIN2NUtg&bvm=bv.74115972,d.cGU - on any freaken browser Google presents the page of the first link I provided on this thread which was the warning.
That was my point that it wasn’t an OS or browser issue...
And it was really wass almost a typo/thinko
No-one develops a text-only browser or learns to use it after they get GPUs unless they are hardcore or subversive.
Not that I have a problem with those choices....
