Can we go back to the “slow news summer”? This summer has been incredibly bleak and depressing, with all sorts of stories about foreign threats, dangerous diseases, and some serious unrest at home. So what does President Obama think about all this awful news? Well, he thinks it might be a skosh overblown. Speaking at a Democratic fundraiser tonight, Obama did not downplay the threats the U.S. faces, but suggested those threats are being exaggerated with the help of the social media and the mainstream press.
The president acknowledged, “I can see why a lot of folks are troubled,” but at the same time he didn’t think hyping global catastrophe is particularly helpful. And as for the media’s contributions, he remarked, “If you watch the nightly news, it feels like the world is falling apart.”
Obama explained he believes the threats the United States faces are not unprecedented, and not on par with what the U.S. faced during the Cold War. He said, “The world’s always been messy… we’re just noticing now in part because of social media.”
He gave off an incredibly optimistic tone, touting America’s military might and its ability to overcome threats by ISIS, Russia, and the like.

OK, the press should cool it a little, give the public what it wants,i.e. the Kardashians and Jolie’s marriage to Pitt. Forget the cops who were killed by black perps, ISIS’s growth from nothing to approximately 8 Divisions, Russia’s incursion into Ukraine and NATO”S do nothing stance when the Ukrainians beg for acceptance. Hey, at this point what does it matter? The world looks at our great leadership and wonders “Say What?”. America has become a major joke in 6 years, and that whole crew in DC deserves to be relieved of command, period!!!
Not if he’s getting his news from E Network, ESPN and selected hosts on MSNBC.

FLASHBACK:
During Monday’s press conference, Carney responded to a question about when the Obama learned about the VA scandal, and Carney claimed it was only last week when TV reports surfaced.
“We learned about them through the reports. I will double check if that is not the case. But that is when we learned about them and that is when I understand Secretary Shinseki learned about them, and he immediately took the action that he has taken,” Carney said.
But uncovered documents reportedly found that authorities in Washington knew about this scandal at the end of the Bush administration and that news of the problem was re-transmitted to Obama after his election in 2008, that Obama’s administration has been fully informed about this problem during his entire presidency, and nothing has been done about it.
This claim that Obama only learned about a scandal by watching news reports on TV is a common refrain for this President.
He made this claim when the IRS scandal involving the agency’s harassment of conservative groups erupted and started airing on TV. “I first learned about it from the same news reports that I think most people learned about this,” he said on May 13, 2013. “I think it was on Friday. And this is pretty straightforward.”
He made the same claim in 2011 when news of Fast And Furious, the FBI’s failed gun walking program, a program responsible for the deaths of many Mexicans and several American agents, went viral. “There have been problems, you know,” he said. “I heard on the news about this story that—Fast and Furious, where allegedly guns were being run into Mexico, and ATF knew about it, but didn’t apprehend those who had sent [the guns].”

For instance, Obama, if George W Bush had told the national press that he had no strategy, there would be 24/7 coverage on all networks and on the front page of the NY Slimes for the next three months.....
You? Ha. Well, the media is so addicted to fecal poisoning by their collectives noses in your crack, that they treat you like you’ve made a mere “gaffe”, and then laugh it up while you go off to fundraisers.
