Oak Creek Army Ranger Justin Slaby to graduate from FBI training in October

Friday, August 29, 2014 10:34 a.m. CDT

OAK CREEK, WI (WTAQ) - A wounded Army Ranger from Oak Creek will graduate from the FBI's training academy in October.

Justin Slaby won a federal lawsuit last year, after he claimed he was wrongly dismissed from the FBI academy because he lost his left hand while serving in Iraq.

This week, the Justice Department's inspector general found that former Milwaukee FBI office director Teresa Carlson urged agent Mark Crider to commit perjury, by testifying that Slaby wasn't qualified to be an agent due to his disability.

Crider supported Slaby in court anyway -- and Slaby's attorney, Kathy Butler, said this week's report portrayed Crider as "the hero he is." Butler also confirmed Slaby's progress toward his goal of becoming an FBI agent.

The Justice Department did not prosecute Carlson -- even though this week's report said Carlson had refused to talk to the inspector general until she was forced to do so, and questioners had suspected that she lied.

Part of all this was made public a year ago -- and soon afterward, Carlson was transferred to Washington where she remains the FBI's deputy director for facilities and logistics.

Great news for a wounded U.S. Army Ranger veteran.

Slaby served two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan without incident. But back in the U.S. while preparing to deploy for a fourth tour, his left hand was blown off by a faulty grenade in a training accident.

Put Teresa Carlson and Ranger Slaby in a room. The person that walks out gets the job.

And PS - he is lucky he only lost his hand with a grenade training accident.

Once again, incompetence, pettiness and corruption get rewarded in Obama's administration.

Glad the Vet is getting his shot.

I am by no means an Obama or this Administration fan.
This does seem to be happening with more frequency now.

However, this is a problem that has been going on forever and just gets worse the bigger foothold unions get in ‘public life’.

The Fed Employees always did have a ‘hard to fire policy’ but the union insertion in it makes it almost impossible.

A note in the same vein, back in WWII early on almost 100% of CO’s were USNA Grads and if I was ‘senior’ to you, there is almost no way I would ever get to ‘work’ for you.

In particular, if the Submarine Service thought you were not suitable or up to the job, you would have to get bumped up to the Staff rather than have a ‘subordinate’ replace you.

This woman and ALL those involved in the VA scandal should be on the rolls of the unemployed.

Recall that Tom Norris, former Navy SEAL, Medal of Honor recipient in Vietnam, who lost an eye in later combat, became an FBI agent.

FBI has been corrupted for many years. . .just shot through with PC. Operating on inertia from the old days and the public’s odd facilitation with the word ‘Quantico.”

Incident where a fed law enforcement guy was involved in a shoot. The investigating FBI bimbo with degree in Music, she did the investigation. She carried the same firearm as the Agent involved in the shoot. She took possession of his firearm but handed it back to the Agent because she didn’t have the grip strength to clear the weapon, could eject the magazine but couldn’t work the slide. Too weak.

Immediately after the 7-7 bombings in London the FBI sent a team to London to assist in the investigation. . .without being asked by the UK authorities. After 24hrs they were invited to leave the UK.

There are other incidents. . .worthless.
