Jason Richwine at National Review Online reports that the evidence behind the Common Core standards is really weak, despite proponents claims that they are research- and evidence-based.
Richwine dives into some of the lackluster research behind the standards:
Now the Center for Education Policy at George Washington University has put together a compendium summarizing over 60 research papers related to Common Core design and implementation. If there is empirical evidence on the importance of strong standards, this is probably the place to find it. Unfortunately, only two papers in the entire compendium are devoted to measuring the impact of Common Core on test scores. Both papers employ the dubious correlation-across-states methodology, and both give mixed results at best.

I was an educator. I have studied CORE. It is n attempt to change your values and culture. It should be stopped.
I was thinking about what this country will be in 20 years. With CORE, we will not exist in any resemblance that we now see today.
When I think back to my youth, today is a nightmare.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
In our neck of the woods everything is on “grant money” computer programs using the common core. Parents don’t have a clue what the kids are learning, the children are complaining of headaches and eye strain, and the whole common core thing is about “data mining.” Michelle Maulkin brought this out many years ago and educators have seen it in motion but apathy won.
I hope Common Core Dies.

Follow this line of logic for a monent. If they are not qualified, then who is? Conservatives want local control and solutions to education. Now take a look at your local educators. What qualifications do they have? I went to college and I knew plenty of people that majored in education. Their education lacked rigor, depth and consisted of indoctrination. Personally, I am not trusting educators at a local level to create curriculum. The solution to this country's education woes lies not with government at any level, it lies with parents. You can't get more local than that.
Ten years from now—or less—people will have very little commonality in culture and history of the US.
We are already there. More than 50% of Americans and Illegals do not identify as American. This in itself is the death of American culture. If you want evidence, go into any national box store or any ATM and you will see the use of foreign languages, not for foreigners, but residents of America. Worse yet, our government operates in multiple foreign languages. America is a Tower of Babble that is crumbling down.
