Hagel says they are a threat.
Dempsey says no.
Reports of cells in America, coming over the Mexican border.
Meanwhile, the man child golfs.
I agree with McInnerney (sp?) on FNC this morning.....Dempsey and probably got calls from the WH to change their “opinion”.
Dempsey is a useless, political hack. One of the “Perfumed Princes” of the Five-sided Puzzle Palace.
He got a phone call from Valerie.
.... as opposed to bombing the sh#t out of Libya which was certainly a direct threat to the US
sarc
Who APPOINTS these jerks??
...............oh, wait.............
ROTFLMAO!!! Looks like god old pliable Gen. Martin got tooken to de Ministry of Love, was shown the inside of Room 101, and got reeducated.
Bombing Syria would be a mistake. Let them fight it out themsevles.
America’s top-ranked military officer says the surging Islamic State group has an “apocalyptic, end-of-days strategic vision” in the Middle East and cannot be defeated unless the United States and a coalition of partners confront it head-on in Syria.
Huh?
Obama’s thugs making the military “lead from behind.” The Founders never thought that Americans would elect an anti-military president, or they wouldn’t have insisted on civilian leadership of the military.
The new NRA ad that was on Fox & Friends this morning is a powerful pro-military voice. Don’t miss it.
I hope that in the event there is some kind of terrorist attack perpetrated by these fanatics here, he will at least have honor to resign his position and to apologize to the survivors, families of the dead and the nation for his wilful blindness. Somehow, though, I doubt it. This guy is as political as they come, and he was picked by the Resident-in-Chief for a reason.
BLUF
Dempsey is the product of the traditional military process. He has been a part of that process since he was 18 and the process has richly rewarded him. The traditional military process includes both military and political elements.
So, until ISIS and other Islamic para-military groups gets tanks, artillery, fighter and bomber aircraft they are “no threat to America”. Guess September 11, 2001 never happened. After all those Islamic terrorists didn’t have tanks, artillery, fighter and bomber aircraft; but they directly attacked the US and killed how many? They accomplished something that no one has done in almost a century - killing Americans on American soil. (Pancho Villa only killed 18 people in his “raid” into New Mexico in 1916.)
The costs to the republic to turn around this kind of military blindness will be extreme and will be spread out over several decades.
BTW - A decade ago the military wrote, staffed and coordinated Joint Operational Environment (JOE) study (U) stated that terrorism will be the predominate threat to the US until at least 2025. Guess Dempsey and others were too busy to read and understand what his contemporaries were saying.
Option 1 would be destroying ISIS there before they strengthen enough in this country to conduct terror operations.
So the administration is opting for Option 2: Do nothing but claim neutrality... hoping and praying that they’re out of office before schools, malls, hospital, etc are raided and American children are beheaded on video.
Far too many Americans think they’re still riding the Hope-n-Change Holiday From History Happytime Train.
Memo to them: That train derailed long ago.
Former CIA chief: Matter of time before ISIS tries to attack West
http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/24/world/meast/isis-attack-west/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
“An ISIS attack against the West is a question of timing — “not of inevitably, not of intent,” according to the former head of the CIA, retired Gen. Michael Hayden
Speaking to CNN’s Jim Sciutto on “Fareed Zakaria GPS,” Hayden said he expects ISIS to attempt an attack on targets in the United States or Europe.
“ISIS is a very powerful local organization, and probably a reasonably powerful regional terrorist organization,” Hayden said. “But it’s one that has global ambitions — and it has the tools.”
Dempsey and Hagel both said YES on Friday and I though both were uncharacteristically alarmed. Even to the point that I said something smelled fishy since their viewpoint was at odds with the way the administration has behaved in the past about terrorists.
Today’s position by Dempsey is a complete about face. The man child was golfing and Dempsey / Hagel made an uncontrolled statement. Now, obongo and the lizard queen are back and they have given new strict orders... “there is no threat. Got that boys? There is no threat.”
Remember, obungo saved us all from terrorism, there is no threat.
I knew something was amiss last week with the candor exhibited by D and H... now the administration is back in control. To be a fly on the wall.
This Administrtion, even iwith a group as blood thirsty and craven as ISIS, will not risk their damnable political narrative, in response.
Other Generls have warned us. Dempsey should tell the truth, or reign in protest and then say why.
