The journalist, Peter Theo Curtis, was abducted near the Syria-Turkey border in October 2012. He was held by the Nusra Front, the Qaeda affiliate in Syria, which has broken with the more radical Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS

For his sake, and that of his family and friends, I sm glad he has been released.
ISIS has made itself look exactly like what it is,a band of craven, tyrannical, blood thirsty animals.
I suspect this is an effort, in league with the UN to blunt that image...but their stains will never wash off.
