I’m writing today with great news – Sen. Joe Leibham has decided not to ask for a recount, making the election results official.
I’m very grateful to Sen. Leibham for deciding against a recount and I thank him for a great campaign. I want to wish him and his wonderful family the absolute best, and the same goes for the other candidates in the race, Rep. Duey Stroebel and Mr. Tom Denow. This campaign was tough, but we all ran races to be proud of.
For our campaign, the race isn’t over, though. Think of this victory as the 50-yard line. We ran a great campaign to get where we’re at, but now we need to continue the fight all the way to the endzone – and it won’t be easy.
In fact, Barack Obama actually won the 6th Congressional District in 2008, and this November, I face a tough Democrat opponent. We need to work hard between now and election day – and we need your financial support, as well.
