On Tuesday, ISIS terrorists beheaded American journalist James Foley. President Obama responded by bombing the fourth green during his long vacation in Marthas Vineyard. He also lectured ISIS on the true meaning of Islam: ISIL speaks for no religion ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings .One thing we can all agree on is that a group like ISIL has no place in the 21st century.
The faculty-lounge insult approach has proved ineffective.
ISIS is now threatening to kill journalist Steven Sotloff. They reportedly hold two other Americans as well. And they will undoubtedly seek to kidnap more Americans in an attempt to leverage President Obama should the Obama administration fail to act with overwhelming force against ISIS.
There are now reports that ISIS offered to release Foley in exchange for $100 million. According to The New York Times:
"The group pressed the United States to provide a multimillion-dollar ransom for his release, according to a representative of his family and a former hostage held alongside him. The United States unlike several European countries that have funneled millions to the terror group to spare the lives of their citizens refused to pay."
That position would have been more credible ISIS would likely think less of its strategy of kidnapping US citizens for ransom, either political or monetary if the Obama administration had not traded five Taliban commanders for alleged deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl just three months ago. At the time, commentators worried that such deals provided impetus to terrorist groups to kidnap Americans. Obviously, Foley was kidnapped long before Bergdahls release but the Obama administration was reportedly negotiating with the Taliban over Bergdahl long before Foley was kidnapped in 2012.
The five Taliban commanders released in exchange for Bergdahl are precisely the type...

The lessons of Lebanon and Libya are lost on those running Foggy Bottom and the WH.. A US passport is a death warrant.. It IS what it ISIS!!!

Or come well armed.
Did he Obama after the COLE terrorists? (no, let them go).
Did Obama go after the Boston Terrorists? (no, he let them in without passport).
Did Obama go after the terrorists in Guantanamo? (no, he let them go FREE).
Did Obama execute Hasan? (no, brought Hasan into the gov't and PROTECTS him even today).
Did he close the borders? (no only he let the felons go free).
Hey Holder. Forget about your investigation into the root cause of the Foley murder. I think we found the culprit: Your boss.
Of course it does and every junior diplomat knows it.
The hostage beheadings seemed to have stopped for a while. Obama negotiated with terrorists and now we have hostages being beheaded on film again. Obama personally caused this the way I see it. His terrorist swaps, actions in Libya and Syria and his inaction in Iraq. ISIS could have been taken out early on.
Excellent comparison. Bergdahl did indeed lead directly to Foley.
The murdering savages understand strength but laugh at 0bama’s weakness...Shapiro is right.
Have you noticed that none of the trouble is IN Saudi Arabia? That kind of trouble isn't allowed.
Years ago they had Korean Rae Dik Dae Lim over there. They had dual jobs: contruction and a standing army.
You could SEE that they weren't the usual contruction guys. They were SHORT as all get-out but OBVIOUSLY soldiers...all extremely fit and well built.
If there had been ANY trouble in their Eastern Province (on the Persian Gulf, which THEY call the ARABIAN GULF), MUCH of the source of petroleum/natural gas, their standing army, Rae Dik Dae Lim, was contracted to "take care of it."
I can't believe that the KSA has changed its policy on protecting its ONLY resources.
No, their camel spiders are NOT a resource.

Don’t you mean “go”?
I think a decent trade would be to give them Berghdal for Foley’s body so his parent can have a proper funeral.

“Their are things I’d like to say and do, but Nixon can’t.”.........Richard M. Nixon
We should trade a few hundred guided 500 pound bombs for each kidnapped American. If a group wants to kidnap or kill Americans, we should follow up every lead to that group above the lowest level with a serious airstrike as soon as we have a fair amount of follow up info from that lead, or an indication that their opsec will not give us more leads.
I recognize that they are/were both Americans, but my impression through reading is that they were both sort of
the “blame America first” crowd. I’ll just say my sympathies
tend to be directed elsewhere.
BHO doesn’t give a damn.
Thanks JimRob.
