That’s because “environmentalism” is simply a cover for their real agenda - reducing the peasants’ use of the elites’ resources.

Then regulate the $#!& out of it, and it’s a nice $3.85.

The EPA has gone into SUPER-PANIC mode working 24/7 to crank out hundreds of pages of regulations to nip this in the bud.

Fossil fuels MUST NOT be allowed to drop in price. PERIOD!

there will be “special” taxes levied.....to fund “Further...Research” into developing Truly Organic Free Range Gasoline!

Uhmmmm....take off taxes and regular production doesn’t produce it for much more.
The actual benefit of this process is mainly for places where there is allot of wasted natural gas trying to produce crude.

I pay about a dollar per therm of nat gas, and one therm has just a little more BTUs than a gallon of gas.

This is interesting, and do-able. Though, when you figure in processing and transport costs, probably not for a dollar/gallon, exactly.

“Fossil fuels MUST NOT be allowed to drop in price. PERIOD!”

I used to be friends with an uber-rich liberal doctor. He wanted all energy prices very high to prevent people from using them. (He has a 600hp BMW.)

Gasoline at $1.00 a gallon would cause a lot of disruption in the world markets. Oil at $1.00 a gallon would $40-55 a barrel. Saudi Arabia is running out of oil and is looking for new markets. I would just as soon that they would stay out of the US and earn their terrorists dollars elsewhere.

I’ve always said that the first company to figure out how to make the Fischer-Tropsh process economically viable (or come up with a better one) will break the back of the energy dilemma. The energy density and other advantages of liquid gasoline are hard to beat, the question is how to make it more economically.

Turn natural gas into oil for $1@gallon.

That will have a very significant impact on some of the sales taxes collected.

BTW, what is needed from conservatives is a push to increase the excise tax. The VAT tax is a costly boondoggle.

“My view is, it’ll make some people some money, but it’s not much of a solution, because you’re still burning fuel and creating emissions,” said Daniel Kammen, director of the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory at UC Berkeley.

Point? Nothing less than taking us back 200 years will make these Luddites happy. It doesn't matter how cheap or abundant energy is, they hate it.

There is NO such thing as "renewable" energy. Just a PR buzz word for the reasoning challenged.

And for the last time, oil and gas are NOT "fossil" fuels. No such thing. These numbnuts probably think The Flintstones is historically accurate.

Remember that F student in calculus who was too stupid to even go into politics?

He/she is now in the EPA.

Or in climate research.

They'll “discover” a previously thought to be extinct spotted field mouse that just happens to favor living anywhere there's natural gas.

How much gas is being flared in the Eagle Ford?

The amounts I see should be criminal.
