The following statement was released by Keith Kelleher, president of SEIU Healthcare Illinois, Indiana, Missouri & Kansas, in response to the shooting of Ferguson, MO, resident Michael Brown and the unrest that is occurring there:
The aftermath of the tragic shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, reveals the urgent need for justice to prevail in order to bring a level of calm back to the community. The initial lack of information coming from the Ferguson Police Department and its militarized response to protesters has clearly erased any faith in local authorities to uncover the truth.
To that end, the members of SEIU Healthcare Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Kansas call on Governor Jay Nixon to do everything in his authority to de-escalate the militarized atmosphere in Ferguson and allow residents to practice their 1st Amendment right to peaceful assembly and protest.
Additionally, we call on the governor to appoint an independent investigator to work along with the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice, who also have been called in to investigate.
Michael Brown was shot six times while unarmed. Some accounts indicate that his hands were raised in the air when shot. The community demands that someone be held accountable for this abuse of force.
We express our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Michael Brown and call on Gov. Nixon to move swiftly and with transparency to review the facts, inform the community and bring charges wherever the investigation shows that there was misconduct.
We also believe that it is only when people of good will unite and organize for racial and economic justice that incidents like this will cease to occur.

Au Contraire, you could not possibly be any more wrong, they do believe very much in the presumption of innocence...of their own race. Now if the accused is a “huge white man” who turns out to actually be a short, pudgy, mixed race individual who looks more like Pedro Holder than he looks like Dolph Lundgren (an actual huge white man) then they believe in guilty with NO POSSIBILITY of being proven innocent.
LOL. When the gimmedats riot, it is the only time in their pathetic meaningless lives race is set to the side. Let them burn it all down. They deserve it.
When I saw the sign I just assumed it was phony simply because there doesn’t seem to be any negro-owned bidnesses in the ‘hood. It also means the owner is too lazyass to break out a 12 gage to protect his own property. The folks of Ferguson have shown really poorly so far in defending their own stuff. The few good examples just ain’t enough. If the folks had stepped out this clusterflock would have been over long ago.
Justice for all must prevail, not the FOP or SEIU unions or corrupt politicians that are owned by outsiders instead of serving Americans.

What the hell was the “tragedy” in that shooting?. As of now, the evidence certainly backs up that officer’s account and that if he hadn’t been really lucky with his final shot, there would be another 18 y.o. black murderer of another police officer “in the wind”.

Actually, like most Americans, they are against Amnesty, Americans from polls I’ve seen are overwhelmingly against Amnesty, Illegal Immigration, 69%, maybe higher.
But whether they will vote for politicians against Amnesty admittedly is another story.

The key testimony is from the Brown family’s star witness, Dorian Johnson, who accompanied Brown when he was shot. Johnson has changed his story, according to the report, and now admits Brown attacked the officer and attempted to take his gun.
