[history]
Journalist James Foley's captors threatened to kill him a week before his execution in a letter that both Global Post President Philip Balboni and the White House were aware of.
Foley was killed Tuesday in Syria after being held there for almost two years. The 40-year-old journalist was freelancing for the Global Post and Agence France-Presse when he was captured. In a news conference Wednesday, Balboni confirmed that both he and the White House were aware of the threat to kill Foley one week prior to his execution. He went on to say that the threat was different than previous communications they'd had with the captors. They demanded a lot on the past, but this letter was filled with rage, according to Balboni. Still, he wanted to believe the threat was empty, and learned it wasn't Tuesday when the video of Foley's killing was released on YouTube.

“Foley dealt with physical abuse, but Balboni didn't elaborate on that topic.”
Probably gang raped by the jihadists among other things.

So ... If I were Pres and some dumb-ass journalist ventured into and ISIS camp to score an interview, I would let him die too.

Balboni acknowledged that bringing hostages home is a “difficult situation” for the government and that there was “no easy” way to bring them back.
That means that Obama knew of the threat and refused to approval a rescue mission.

Gee, if only Foley had been a traitor, Obama would have coughed up some Guantanamo residents for a trade.

He’s white. Zero’s administration will do nothing to save/protect white people or Christians abroad. Not going to happen. “Save our girls?” Sure. Kurds? Maybe. But not Christians, and certainly not white Christians.

Yep, pretty hard to use the “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” line when you just traded five battle hardened jihadis for one deserter (at best).

RE: Foley
There may be more 'there' there:
James Foley was one of a new breed of activists calling themselves journalists. He didnât travel to report on a story, but to promote an agenda. And the agenda was obvious from his Twitter feed.Any human life lost is tragic, but a moral individual would have much more empathy for the Syrian Christians who suffered at the hands of Foleyâs favorite Jihadists than one of their pet propagandists. Foley came to Syria to support the Sunni Islamist rebels against the Syrian government. He cheered on the Sunni Muslim terrorists fighting to ethnically cleanse the Christians of Aleppo. In the conflict...

After 162 days with no information about his whereabouts, GlobalPost announced Friday that James Foley, an American journalist who went missing on November 22 in Syria, is almost certainly being held by the Syrian government in a detention center near the capital city of Damascus.... ...GlobalPost CEO and President Philip Balboni said: "With a very high degree of confidence, we now believe that Jim was most likely abducted by a pro-regime militia group commonly referred to as the Shabiha and subsequently turned over to Syrian government forces. We have obtained multiple independent reports from very credible confidential sources who have...

I didn't hear the reference source, but the sub for Mark Levin was reading that the WH did attempt a rescue of Foley, but when forces got to the location, the hostages were gone.

You or any of us ever heard of ISIS before a couple months ago?

No, that’s another problem. The media introduced us to ISIS or ISIL as if the fall of Iraq and the establishment of a Caliphate were a done deal and they refuse to draw the connection with Turkey.

Funny how just a few minutes ago the Obama Administration claims they authorized a rescue mission to save the journalist several months ago.

you know, who cares....a prez nor a country can or should be held hostage in this way...a real leader would have charged ahead with massive bombings...fight fire with fire....
but that would be a "real" leader...a real man...

It’s disrespectful and racist to expect Barack Obama to interrupt his vacation to try to ptevent the brutal slaying of a white American by the same muslim terrorists he supplied with military aid when they were back in Syria.
But the shooting of a black criminal who attacked a white policeman in Ferguson, Mo. is an issue that required Obama’s immediate attention and a trip to the scene by his racist Attorney General.

Barry has put us American frogs into the pot of water on the stove. Accept the warmth he brings only to watch Americans die. He longs for Islam to dominate our freedoms. That’s the easiest way I can explain it. Pray for America to survive and acknowledge his Muslim faith. He has said he will stand by them as the winds have shifted.
